Skeptic 'Mass Overdose' Boots Protest
Saturday 30th January 2010 at 10 am
(This message is being sent to all Homeopathy Heals Supporters - apologies for late sending)
LONDON Main Event:
Meet 10.00am Saturday 30th January
outside Conway Hall, 25 Red Lion Square, London WC1R 4RL
At 10:23am on January 30th skeptics (and more than three hundred homeopathy sceptics nationwide) will be taking part in a mass homeopathic 'overdose' in protest at Boots' continued endorsement and sale of homeopathic remedies, and to raise public awareness, saying that homeopathic remedies have nothing in them. Organized by Skeptics in the Pub.
Note that this event is then immediately followed by the CFI UK TRICK OR TREATMENT event with Simon Singh, John Garrow and Andy Lewis, also at Conway Hall.
If you live in London, please join other homeopathic practitioners who are going to witness the above Main Event.
We are expecting to have a banner with the words:
Homeopathy Heals !
- Waiting for Science to Catch Up
www.homeopathyheals.me.uk
You can also promote homeopathy Saturday morning by attending the
Skeptic 'Mass Overdose' which is also being held outside main branches of Boots in the following cities: Liverpool, Manchester, Edinburgh, Bristol, Glasgow, Birmingham, Southampton.
Homeopathic Practitioners all over the UK, can also go and check out whether these Skeptics really do swallow a whole bottle of Boots homeopathic medicine. I have found out that after you unscrew the top of a bottle of Boots homeopathic medicine, there is a little hole to dispense one pill at a time and this part does not lift off, so it would be impossible to swallow the whole bottle without cutting the bottle open. Therefore some Skeptics will have to take them one at a time!
You can download the attached leaflet to hand out created by Alex Heffron to counter the
10:23 Skeptic Campaign.

Unless they are highly susceptible to the one dose - never mind it is 125 pillules none of them are going to feel a thing unfortunately!! And if they did you will have hear about it!!

Re: Skeptic 'Mass Overdose' Boots Protest
Not correct - a prover does not have to be highly susceptible. I have never known a prover not to produce sx (when I know for certain that they have taken the pill, that the pill is viable and they have been instructed correctly in taking notes). Rarely, a prover has to take more than one pill to produce sx.
More than likely they are taking placebo!

Re: Skeptic 'Mass Overdose' Boots Protest
I have been prescribed lots of remedies which have done absolutely nothing with even more than 1 dose. Haven't others?

Re: Skeptic 'Mass Overdose' Boots Protest
But you are the client who would have health issues and being treated - provers need to have relative health - § 126 of the Organon and although Hahnemann suggested taking the pills several times you really don't need to to get decent proving data

Re: Skeptic 'Mass Overdose' Boots Protest
In provings these days as long as a full case history is taken before the proving it doesn't matter if the provers have health issues as these may subside during the proving. In provings you look for new symptoms or subsidence of old symptoms but I don't need to tell you this as you carry out provings. In the case of this silly protest no one will have proving symptoms and even if they did they wouldn't admit it- there has been no one to take a full or even partial case history before and after the event !!! Someone may even be relieved of a symptom they have been experiencing but no way are they going to attribute this to the vial of pillules they have taken!!!

Yes - one dose does nothing unless you are susceptible to that remedy.
