sprained wrist

Post by Priscilla Tan »

Hi all,

I just spoke to my aunt who lives in Sydney, Australia. She told me that she had sprained her wrist. She is unable to rotate her wrist in certain direction and it's giving her a lot of pain and inconvenience in her work and daily living.
She is currently seeing a TCM physician who uses Tui Na massage on her. She was told that healing will take a long time and she has to see him twice a week for massage.

May I know if Homeopathy would be able to treat such a case? If yes, any Australian Homeopath on board here? If no, is there another treatment option she can consider?

Thanks

Hi Priscilla,
Here's a website to check out http://homepages.ihug.com.au/~schm/staff.html
This is a homoeopathic college in Sydney - the people on this staff page are well recognised Australian Homoeopaths, I have thoroughly enjoyed teaching seminars by a couple of them. Your Aunt would probably be albe to look them up in the Yellow Pages phone book - any of them would probably do a good job in private consultation. A cost effective option is that this college runs a Student Clinic where the student would be closely supervised by the staff practitioners - she would need to contact the college to find out about this.
I would also want to make sure that your Aunt has had her wrist Xrayed - 10 to 14 days after the initial injury is a good time. The reason I say this is because in the wrist there are 8 small bones - a reasonably common injury is a fracture to one of these bones - but it won't be picked up on Xray until at least day 10 after the injury. Limitation of movement and pain for more than a few days suggests to double check for dislocation or fracture. This website has some basic information
http://www.sportnetdoc.com/injury/07-02.htm
To tell someone that healing will take a long time and they need to come for treatment twice a week - well I don't know this type of massage or this practitioner, but I do recognise a good way to build a business.....
