Homeopathy in the News

Post by Dave Hartley »

the first article is interesting.. it's not clear whether the program will
be gifted with any open mindedness or will merely be status quo WHO
operation of attempting to assert top-down U.S.-style medical "science"
(which fails the definition of "science" by placing head firmly in sand when
presented with evidence outside of it's comfort zone)
.. at the bottom of the article is this link
http://indianmedicine.nic.in/html/homoeopathy/homoe.htm
which tells something of the official position of the government of India on
homeopathy.

Nhs Rules Out The Alternative

A woman who claims homeopathy has enabled her to carry on
working at the age of 90 has been told she will no longer be
given the treatment on the NHS. Long-term osteoarthritis
sufferer Marjorie Titchen, who runs the White Topps dog-friendly
guest house in Southbourne, Bournemouth, plans to appeal against
the decision.

Giving placebo pills could help patients

A pilot study from five NHS homeopathic hospitals found 60% of
the 1797 patients treated with homeopathic remedies reported an
improvement in quality of life. The top four most treated
conditions were eczema, chronic fatigue syndrome, menopause and
osteoarthritis.

Homeopathic Prescriptions - The True Picture

Referrals to NHS homeopathic services remain steady and over the
counter sales are increasing; there is clearly no decline in the
popularity of homeopathy.

Study Confirms Value Of Homeopathy

Outcomes from a pilot study confirm homeopathy to be a useful
treatment option for NHS patients. Nearly 60% of patients who
had received a series of homeopathy appointments reported an
improvement in health that affected their daily lives

The alternative Holby City that treats 30,000 patients a year

With an annual NHS budget of about £5million, the Royal London
Homoeopathic Hospital is one of four run by the NHS. It treats
30,000 patients a year for a variety of conditions including
eczema, arthritis, allergies and stress. Such is the demand that
it has just opened a 'herbal clinic'. We spoke to a range of
patients at the hospital who have turned to homeopathy.

it seems, as per usual, there are contradictory articles here.
the NHS, i thought, has recently refused to fund homeopathy,
however, one of the articles notes an increase in referrals to this
health system. is the NHS refusing to pay for these treatments
across the board? some on this list have noted a significant
decrease in their practice due to this new ruling--no?

I can see how that can happen. Bernie Simon has been posting information from various news sites
for a number of years. Here is some info: http://carelesshand.net/

Does one need permission to cross-post???

Hi

Am running out the door, but just had to send this to you.

http://articles.mercola.com/sites/artic ... ected.aspx

This is a ranking of the most visited health sites online. ABC Homeopathy is #11 and Hpathy.com is # 14.

In this Mercola.com article he exposes WebMD as a front for drug corps like Eli Lilly with their bogus depression test.

It is not surprising to me since I sent a strong letter of oppostion in answer to an md who was trashing holistic protocols and

nutritional information.

mercola.com is rather suppressive. His team removes any comments that question his recommendations or mention non-Mercola brand products. Eventually they block your ID.
While informative, it's primary purpose is to sell his products which are overpriced.
