Dear Joy,
There is a big difference between casual observation of facial expression and researched, codified facial features. The facial features remain the same no matter what the person is thinking or feeling. They are simpler when we are children, but the balance of features belonging to each miasmatic group of facial features remains the same when we are old and more of our inborn facial features can be seen. I am only dealing with asians, but since I have started I am amazed by the huge variety of facial features. The full range of what is in Bentley's book is present among my population. According to Bentley, facial features are spread among the races. Obviously some features are more pronounced in different populations. The point is, they can be objectively observed.
The reason for having investigated facial features or any confirmatory method, is we are looking for an objective way to confirm what we have found through classical methods. Facial expression is like so many of our rubrics, very subjective. They are hard to read and hard to codify. You want to see repetition throughout the case, emphatic expression from the client, and patterns. Facial features are not as obvious as I had originally hoped, but 8 cases needed to learn the rule of reading facial features is a pretty steep learning curve. If I can get the art of seeing facial features, I will be quite happy. The art of reading subjective rubrics is much deeper. It is the content of our disucssion on Minutus so obviously it is important. Entirely necessary for a practicing homeopath, but I don't expect to master it in 8 cases. In fact, I have never received direct instruction on reading subjective rubrics. Maybe I am just not there in my karmic evolution so the opportunity does not arise.
