I would also try to find what comes up when faced with prospect of
confrontation--feellings, thoughts, sensations, other reactions?
Adding to Rosemary's lovely list :-) maybe Timidity is also
possible?

Also, what happens (or what does the person think / fear would or might
happen) if they are pushed past the avoidance? E.g. (digging thru
memory) the magnesiums avoid (fear?) confrontation, because they fear
that if they do engage they will explode--and ineed they can.

Puls might avoid because they're afraid they might (and indeed they
might) cry; etc...
The behavior makes a nice starting point, but I think it's always
useful to look for the "why" of it.

Rochelle

What about cowardice?
I don't know if it fits in this case, but cowards avoid confrontation. eg:
lyc.

From Morrison...The Magnesia muriatica child will often display great turmoil if his parents argue. If we find a child who develops a liver problem and the parents confess to having many arguements or even one serious argument in front of the child, it is very likely that this child needs Mag Mur...
*Aversion to quarrels; peacemaker.
*Passivity. Cannot cope with life. Depression.
*Anxiety at night in bed; anxiety on lying, on closing eyes.
Sensitivity to noise.
(Compare Lyc, Mag-C, Nat-M, Chin, Sep)
Morrison has a cassette out about Mag-mur. If I remember correctly, this patient may say affirmations, a type of trying to tell him/herself that everything is OK, I am OK, you are OK...
Its really a good look at the Magnesiums
The only rubric i can find that may be close is Ailments, from quarrels: berb., chion., cic., germ., glon., hydrog., kali-chl., spig., thuj.
Hope these help...

Aversion to quarreling is also a hallmark of the Magnesiums, if these have any resonance in this case otherwise. Rosemary
