Premature fusion of fontanelle in 9mth old

Has anyone ever treated for premature fusion of fontanelle

Just for some history:This is in a 9mth old male child who has been a failure to thrive suspected reflux, Diagnosed by paediatrician as having cows milk allergy and malabsorption. digestive problems has a special Pepti – formula (semidigested) and constipation down since then – bad wind - painful – M had hyperemesis+++, hernia op at 5 weeks, cries constantly, poor sleep, clingy otherwise meeting milestones, born 2.585kg Apgar 9 Dr gave Losec less vomiting since Losec.

I have not seen child yet but wanted to know re fontanelle fusion? As have never encountered this other than in medical books. Am about to start researching but thought I would post this earlier than later so I can research with anyone elses thoughts on it in mind.

Calc-c. and Sanicula have premature closing of the fontanels before birth, which obviously makes the delivery harder on the mom. Is this what you mean?

HI Dale – no as far as I know it has happened since birth but earlier than it usually does and may becausing some pressure on the brain – hence the crying and screaming? At this point in time there is not much more info until the paediatrician finishes his tests and they come to see me with the results.

Tho you'd of course need much more to justify, maybe Syphilinum is worth a thought, esp. of the premature closure has resulted in an unusual skull shape?

My son had this. We noticed it at around age 2 but I'm not sure if it was there earlier. I noticed a small bump on the forehead between his eyes but just above. His doctor thought it was a tumor so we did a CT scan with a pediatric neurosurgeon at Children's Hospital in Boston. The neuro said it was an early fusion of the fontanel. He thought it was possibly from my son's headbanging as a baby(was autistic) but I'm not sure it would have happened anyway. He also used to push his forehead along the carpet at 4.5 months old when he started to crawl. My son also had failure to thrive, severe reflux with aspirating, digestive issues, allergy to cow's milk (as well as gluten, corn, and soy), and was on Pepcid for several years until homeopathy cured it. He also had severe constipation as an infant. He had the encephalitic cry after his DTP vaccine. Went from a happy baby who was sleeping through the night to constant crying, and literally hardly slept at all. He would only sleep for a few minutes at a time and it had to be sitting up on my chest. He slept about 2 hours per night for months on end.
I'm not sure when the bump disappeared but it's no longer there. He has been on chronic homeopathic treatment since 18 months old. Now at 8 - no food allergies, no health issues, normal development, honor roll student, very social. But those first few years were purely awful.

Oopsie... should have said... his remedy for 3+years was DTP. But he did very well on Calc-C and then Sil following. His symptoms frequently look more like Silicea, but he does better with Calc. His current remedy is Coccus Cacti for reoccurring cough with Pertussis nosode as intercurrent.
