Off TOPIC my dog who is incontinent

Post by Teresa Kramer »

I lived in Madagascar for 10 years and I know that dogs there eat a diet that consists mainly of (white but hulled at home) rice with a bit of greens if they are lucky. Meat is too rare and valuable for them to get any in my experience. They don’t live very long lives, maybe, but I doubt the diet is responsible for that.
People there consume as much as a kg a day of same rice plus greens and meat on occasions and do pretty well. They certainly get lots of Vitamin D, at least the folks in the country do. J t

Hi Theresa,

I guess dogs eat a lot of grains. You see plenty of it in the commercial dog food. I am no expert at this. I can't imagine them eating grains in the wild so this is interesting to me. So I thought all the grains were fillers. Maybe not.

Blessings,
Ellen
