I must have treated somewhere around 30 MS cases over the years - while not a huge number, I find homeopathy is fantastic for MS and become quite upbeat and optimistic when I know a case is coming in.
Not especially - no more than most. But I am the type of prescriber who doesn't go digging around deeply for a direct mental-emotional cause for problems. If its there, its there and I then factor it in but I won't exhaustively dig.
Again, this hasn't risen its head that much in my practice. Typically I will see people after a diagnosis and often well down the path. By and large I don't pay too much attention to the tests because I am focussing on the symptoms. If people relapse I just represcribe. Quite a few have been on my books for just a few months as the improvement is so great they haven't needed to return. I am sure I would - have heard from them if they were relapsing - not enough time to follow things like this up. For the same reason I haven't spent much time being conscious of what type of MS has been diagnosed. I often find that people have been told the strangest things sometimes rather than an honest, "We don't know."
Some were clear-cut 'magic bullets' but other cases have involved zig-zagging. Some cases (from memory) that have only needed the one remedy were prescribed Med, Phos, Sulph, Caust, Nat-m. But then, as with a case I am managing at the moment, a number of remedies have been needed as the symptoms change. This case started out on Sulph initially, then Lyc, then Phos, and now back to Sulph and is currently doing well - and this has been over a 5 week period to manage what had been a rapid deterioration into paralysis, vertigo on any movement (better lying on R side - lovely modality) and depression. Normally the changes are not needed this rapidly and maybe my prescribing missed a deeper remedy but he is now progressing well - got him onto his plane for an overseas trip when 10 days before he was incontinent, paralysed down the R side, unable to type, and not able to speak clearly. Liquid doses were/are being used and it is obvious the remedies are doing the job because he is fairly sensitive so I only have him redose as the improvement stalls or a relapse starts to take place - each time, improvement is underway again in 24 hours.
In contrast, I have another case who I have been 'treating' for about 10 years now. I only hear from her when she needs another bottle or potency of Med which she takes very irregularly as symptoms start to return. Again, improvement is fairly rapid after each dose which is rather amazing when you think that remyelination has to take place. Is she being 'cured' or just palliated? I would think the first as she has never been as bad as she was at the beginning of treatment and gradually the frequency, intensity, and duration of symptoms has been improving. But, at 10 years she is still using a remedy, albeit very irregularly.
Other cases it seems to be all over and done with after a month or two.
Of course there are also some cases - usually those that are very advanced on seeing you - where it is as if they have given in to the diagnosis they have been given and so will still consult the allopaths for treatment and use homeopathy as a side offer. These people have such advanced and difficult symptoms that you do have to have a lot of time available for them to help with acute infections, etc that take hold with the debility of the MS but often they lack the confidence in homeopathy to manage these problems that arise, see their specialist, and resign themselves to the fact they have MS. In these instances there is only so much you can do.
No, I hardly ever recommend supplements - about the only ones would be some fish oil or Vit D if I know they are not getting out in the sun. Otherwise I just advise dietary changes and work with the symptoms that present. Doesn't mean they are not taking supplements of their own choosing though. I have always been of the opinion that supplements are too much of a chemical or physical approach that have the potential to mask symptoms. I think there is a lot more going on with fresh food than its chemical make-up.

Re: Multiple Sclerosis
I am new to this group, am not a homeopath but hope to be able to help my multiple sclerosis (MS) by finding a practitioner nearby (near Girona, Spain).
Has anyone any positive comments or should I not waste my money?
My main issue is walking - which I cannot do at all any more. mainly through not having any balance whatsoever and have been 6 years permanently in a wheelchair. I have been following a specific diet for the last 3 and a half years that excludes gluten, dairy and legumes and that has ridded me of most of my symptoms but I still cannot walk.
Any views welcomed.

Dear Janet
Welcome to Minutus.
Sorry to hear that you are suffering from MS.
There is one chemical which if ingested over a long time can present MS type symptoms. So we need to rule this one out first.
That chemical is the sweetener Aspartame. It is in almost all diet drinks, chewing gums and something like 5000 other products. It is also marketed as EQUAL, CANDEREL and NUTRASWEET.
Please check all the foods and drinks you are consuming to make sure none contain Aspartame.
Good luck

Hi Janet,
Welcome. One of my instructors in my homeopathy classes had MS for years and was able to teach, have a practice and ride her horse. Homeopathy works well for MS.

I wrote to someone in Spain who will let me know, hopefully, if she is in your area.
Homepathy will be very helpful with MS.

Re: Multiple Sclerosis
Thank you and thanks to the others who have responded.
I know about aspartame and have never taken it in anything. I can also rule out Hughes Syndrome, Lyme's Disease and one or two others. I did have a heavy metal test recently and was found to be over the top on mercury. I have been taking chlorella and reducing my fish consumption to reduce that.
