As usual you have no clue what I do or believe......
Two or more remedies at a time IS polypharmacy. I use it as FIRST AID
(emphasis intentional) when I use hypercal cream for a cut, for
example. Hypercal combines calendula and hypericum at a rather low
potency (usually 10X) in a cream, so that is polypharmacy.
So what.
First aid (NOT chronic case work) often needs more than one remedy at
a time to be effective in a timely manner.
I did that this week for a cat bite, and applied a group of remedies
made up separately as aqueous and applied within a minute of the
three bites and the result is I'd forgotten about the bites within 5
minutes, and they had scabbed cleanly by morning with no swelling or
discomfort.
And I shall do likewise next time. The speed of application is very
relevant in cat bites. If there is a MORE effective way to quickly,
gently, and permanently, (some Hahnemann principles there whether
you like it or not) heal cat bites in 5 mins or less, please share it.
I get a cat bite maybe every couple months, and I use or suggest
remedies about 5 times a day or more - so the cat bite polypharmacy
is important to me and needs to be accepted practice by a homeopath -
but it is a minority of what I do.
Whatever I describe about my work, is always presented in the proper
context, I do that as I expect it to be understood in context and to
remain in context, if/when discussed further.
One also needs to keep any first aid style of homeopathy separate
from chronic work, and in context. It needs to be part of what a
homeopath can be expected to do in other words, but not as a
treatment for a chronic illness.
First aid homeopathy and chronic illness homeopathy need quite
different handling.
It is a mistake to confuse them, or to assume that what is acceptable
in first aid, is automatically acceptable in chronic work.
This is ONE remedy at a time, not polypharmacy. It is multivalent
for cat flu, it is not something that is for a mixture of illnesses.
It is one remedy from something covering one type of symptom set -
the cat flu set even though it involves more than one entity that
causes cat flu symptoms.
I would advocate strongly against an unproven remedy that is made
from a mix of vaccine or virus or bacteria or other disease entities
where the different entities result in *different* categories of
illness. They need to be similar. For example, it makes sense to
combine 4 flu entities, or 3 immune compromise entities, or more than
one bloody diarrhea type entity, and so on ..... and to use that
symptom-specific combination to *make* a *single* remedy to prevent
that category of *similar* symptoms.
I would not for example make a remedy that includes dissimilar
entities such as rabies, cat flu and parvo, into one remedy. There is
no logic to this.
There *is* logic to the similar symptom illness entities being put
together top make a "similar" remedy:
We know from Hahnemann's work, and from The Law of Similars, that a
similar disease energy will overcome another similar disease energy
for example a pox entity that is similar to the smallpox one, will
cure smallpox. It is the same with the cat flu remedy. It is cat flu
illness substance (instead of cowpox illness substance) being used
because it is similar to cat flu - hence it works against cat flu of
ANY kind - not just the range covered by the 4 flus used to make the
cat flu remedy called URI 30C. (URI( stands for upper respiratory
infection). The Law of SImilars applies, just the same as it does in
cowpox/smallpox. So although Plane Flu (a form of cat flu) is NOT in
the 4 types in the remedy - the remedy still cures Plane Flu by the
Law of Similars.
By the way although no formal proving of the URI 30C cat flu remedy
has been done (as far as I know and I may be wrong on that; it's been
in use too long in the veterinary homeopathy profession to be sure)
there have been provings when someone has continued the use of the
remedy for too long. It has happened in quite a few cases I know of,
when someone tries to help the chronic consequences of a suppressed
cat flu with this remedy. In other words the remedy was being used
where the symptoms are not cat flu but something else. This DOES
eventually induce cat flu symptoms, just as one would expect.
Cat flu is not just some little infection, it is life threatening to
a cat, so people get desperate to try anything. It is fairly easy to
know that a cat has never been well since some cat flu or other was
suppressed with antibiotic - it is all too common. It is in these
instances that people (without help of any homeopath) get "cat flu"
remedy and hope it will fix the cat, dosing it more and more in
desperation....knowing that cat flu was the original problem, even
though the cat is no longer having cat flu symptoms - it is having
the symptoms common from antibiotic-suppressed cat flu (and which the
general public does still associate with cat flu). Such cases have
periodically come to my notice over the years on my Catwell list - a
health list for cats - usually with an email to the tune that they
"tried a cat flu remedy" and instead of healing the (current)
symptoms, it actually made the original (cat flu symptoms like
sneezing, runny swollen eyes with pus, loss of smell) get added to
the current ones. - Help they say.... (A proving and not as easy to
reverse as usual, having been applied to a SICK cat.)
The URI 30C remedy is for first aid or prevention or for an acute
condition - NOT for chronic conditions such as after cat flu
suppression results in new chronic symptoms. For those one must find
the simillimum as usual.
Debatable:
I did NOT say it was being prescribed homeopathically. You did.
But I DO think it is homeopathic in action in that it follows the Law
of Similars and it cures permanently, and in that inappropriate use
results in a proving of cat flu symptoms.
I DID say it is used as a first aid (not chronic treatment) and is
extremely effective - predictably so - in cat flu.
The fact that this remedy at 30C potentized remedy does cure, and has
no side effects, and that it results in lifelong removal of the
problem, is relevant.
I said no such thing.
In fact I stated the opposite, and always do. The Law of SImilars is
THE law at the core of all my homeopathy work:-
It is not at the core of my computer work or knitting - just the
homeopathy:-)
Context again please:-)
Huh????????????
This is your twisted idea not mine!
Read my definition of Homeoapathy again:
"The Practice of Homeopathy is the "art of healing" and of developing
resistance to further illness, by the use of the PRINCIPLES developed
and practiced by Samuel Hahnemann, and documented in his Organon of
Medicine and other writings."
FOR WHAT IT'S WORTH:
Cure can tell you what's homeopathic.
For example with the URI 30C remedy, the cures obtained prove that
URI 30C is acting by the Law of Similars.
That makes it homeopathic.
Speak for yourself.
In USA there is already a functional mechanism that shows how they
work in health care. I'd lobve to propose the New Zealand system here
but I can not see it fitting into the current poliltical rule set in
USA. So when in Rome, do as the Romans do:
What DOES fit the current rule set, is what the allopaths do.
Homeopaths need to take a leaf out of that bhook and do likewise:
What allopaths do (in the veterinary area at least) is this:
They write a draft proposal for the definition of "The Practice of
Veterinary Medicine" and they submit this draft proposal to each
State board in turn for acceptance as a law. Homeopaths (asleep on
the job since this started in the 1980s) are not opposing this, so it
becomes a law by default. In a few states where the original draft
was accepted as is into law as the new definition, the rights of
homeopaths evaporated overnight. Only then, a few hard working people
tried to undo at least some of the damage - after the horse had
bolted so to speak.
This is backwards.
The MECHANISM works in USA politics.
We just need to use it.
What's needed is a proposed definition of "The Practice of
Registerable Veterinary Homeopathy" - which homeopaths need to work
on and submit to each legislature to have it made law. (for
veterinary and human health areas.) This needs to be worked on OUT of
the public eye, till ready to present to the State legislatures...
(Another free lesson from the Allopaths)
THAT mechanism exists and is a standard way to get health care law
changed "by definition" - at state level which is where it resides in
USA.
Again - a single draft proposal is the mechanism, not one per state.
The legislature WILl make state changes to conform to state ideas -
but the allopaths knew a single one would make it easier to propose
in 50 places - especially if they could wangle it so it is accepted
relatively unchanged anywhere - it is then an argument on their side
"Oh well, Illinois accepted it already"......
This will be LESS easy for us than for allopaths. That's mainly
because we played dead while allopaths wrote the current anti-
homeopathy wording into the "practice of registerable veterinary/
medicine" and it also will be harder because we have a lot of
"homeopathic veterinarians" who feel they are homeopaths and have
studied as much as 4 weekend seminars in homeopathy.
In THIS area I think we can learn from New Zealand, what is
"registerable" as a qualified homeopath. They have been there and
done that - successfully.
We can also learn from NZ to propose a "Practice of registerable
veterinary/homeopathy" as opposed to a Practice of homeopathy"
blanket definition. It still leaves an experimental area and a place
for homeopathic veterinarians in the unregistered homeopathy area.
LONG-term what we really need in USA is of course the same
constitutional right to choice of health care that we have for choice
of religion.
Namaste,
Irene
