Dear all,
Does anyone use this method to help determine the rem of choice (as in, having chosen a remedy, test it with the patient to confirm)? Many thanks.

I do at times.
For myself, tho, I've found that my muscle testing is sometimes
reliable and sometimes not. By "sometimes" I don't mean randomly here
or there, but rather in "general life-periods", according to overall
health and stress.

There was a period of several years where I used it a *lot* and very
successfully (all within the limits of which remedies I'd chosen to
*test*, of course). Then went thru a "health crisis" during which it
wasn't working (presumably because i was "reversed"?), and I kind of
lost my touch, and my kids (who'd been my main "victims") kind of lost
patience with it. :-)

So my opinion is that it can be *very* useful--but has pitfalls that
it's important to be aware of.

Kinesiology/muscle-testing

Hi Margaret,

Are you talking about Filip Degroote, M.D. Physical Examination and
Observation? I use this with not enough skill. But it worked the 3
times I have tried it. This month, I will be asking a chiropractor
who uses kinethsiology to help me with my skills and understanding. I
have found Applied Kinesiology by Robert Frost to be helpful.

I think you know this but for others, this is not a remedy choosing
method. It is a remedy confirmation method. But DeGroote's MM is
also full of clinical observations that are useful in choosing the
remedy. His other book, Notes on miasm heredity and
remedy-interaction is also helpful.

This testing method is I think beyond what Shannon is describing.
Specific muscles are tested for specific remedies. There are 31
muscles tested, so it is not so a quick learn. Your have to study it.
You are looking for muscle weakness that is inherent in the remedy,
like a rubric. There most of the time, but not there does not mean
the remedy won't work. Also, there are other methods for testing when
to use a specific procedure or a remedy, more like what Shannon is
describing but again touching special points that change the weakness
of the above tested muscles. The Kinethesiologist chiropractor that I
will be learning from said that the art of questioning is essential
here. I think she means what question you choose to ask, not how you
ask.

I will be doing my training in Port Townsend around July 12th. Anyone
around there and would like to join, I think you would be welcome.
I'd have to check.

I would very much like to find others with similar interests and
skills (you have to be able to work with the patient laying down in
many cases. Not all test). I am working up a spread sheet to improve
speed in using the method. I would like help.

Blessings,
Ellen

I read a review of this at
, and it looks
absolutely wonderful! Pricey, tho. How useful have you found the
descriptions of appearance and behavior? This one definitely goes onto
my wish list. :-)
