Carpal Tunnel Syndrome Question
Re: Carpal Tunnel Syndrome Question
Hi all,
What sorts of remedies should I be looking at for carpal tunnel syndrome flare up? Well, it might not be carpal tunnel syndrome. It might be the other condition.
The forearms hurt all the way from the wrist to the elbow joint (underneath same side as the palm). like from the pressure of leaning on the desk.
Which remedies should I look at and then read up on?
Thanks.
Sue

Re: Carpal Tunnel Syndrome Question
There are a great deal of rx but you need to take the case -
Pain/sensation
Location
Extension
Modalities
Concomitant sx
Causation if known
Although it is quite common for the pains of CTS to go upwards and downwards (along the nerves) this can be a leading sx such as you get in Kalmia and Guaicum to name but 2 rx

Re: Carpal Tunnel Syndrome Question
A couple of years ago my husband who is a web developer and sits at the computer all day long, complained to me of having Carpal Tunnel type pains.
I took the case as best I could (he is NOT a good Homeopathic patient, very difficult to elicit symptoms and modalities from him....) and the remedy that came up was Nat Mur.
A single dose of Nat Mur 6C cleared the situation in less than half an hour.

Re: Carpal Tunnel Syndrome Question
It's also worth trying for the full, broadly indicated chronic remedy.
That's what worked for my husband, after prescribing on local sxs
didn't work--but then he's really hard to get a case out of; maybe with
better descriptions a local remedy could have been found. OTOH, when a
broadly chosen remedy relieves a specific complaint, then you're
getting the advantage of all those wonderful "side-effects", of
improvement in the broader, overall case! For which reason I always
prefer to do that when feasible; granted tho that it's not always
feasible.

Re: Carpal Tunnel Syndrome Question
Now *that* is a nice result!
Would I be correct in assuming that your choice was based partly on the
broader picture, not purely on local sxs and modalities? (E.g. on the
fact that he's "very difficult to elicit symptoms and modalities from",
etc.
) With my family, esp. as my kids have gotten older, I
have to fall back on that often; fortunately it is often successful for
us!

Re: Carpal Tunnel Syndrome Question
Actually, no!
My husband is a Kali Carb constitutionally, and as far as I can recall he has never before needed Nat Mur, and does not have the characteristics of this remedy. I don’t remember exactly, but there was one finger involved that hurt more than the other, radiating down the wrist and the forearm. That is what decided the remedy.

Are you referring to 'local sx' and 'local' rx' as or rather than acutes?
CTS can most definitely fall into both categories although I think more usually chronic. It has been linked to hormone problems and the taking of contraceptive pills.

Also B6 (which is depleted by contraceptive pills).
I don't want to debate the terms any further right now.
Thanks,
Shannon
