I would suggest that the presence of any virus is meaningless as a virus is not the cause, but possibly there to do a job communicating from cell to cell

Having spent 10 days in polluted Queens, NYC just before this H1N1 outbreak, near St. Francis Prep school, the highways surround many places, not just the school. Tons of houses, apartment houses right there. Why didn't any others outside the school initially get sick?

This is not Los Angeles or Mexico City with high smog alerts. Only during sustained high heat and humidity summer days are ozone alerts issued and the elderly and immune comprimised advised to stay inside. 90+ F and over 90% humidity sustained for a day or more. The conditions during April no where compare to that. If foul air causes these problems, why don't they happen all year around, especially summer?

You can not separate virology and toxicology because viruses have
genes that code for specific toxins - and the study of this needs no
help from those who make meiopic statements to the contrary.

PubMed is full of good research that shows what viruses have which
genes to code for what toxins.

And is smog the only determining factor?

Maybe they do but the school is closed in the summer.

Or maybe Vitamin D in the summer helps with this?
