Malaria

Post by Mark Young »

I would be grateful for any comments from anyone re malaria. I am
travelling to malawi from UK and have been advised to take Lariam
(mefloquine) as malaria preventative. The side effects are well
documented including fairly severe mental symptoms. The other
antimalarials are considered relatively ineffective for this region due
to parasites developing resistance.

Homoeopathic advice has been to take a single dose of the nosode Malaria
30c followed by daily dose of Chin-s 6c.

Also any comments or thoughts on travel immunisation. The usual stuff is
recommended, tetanus, typhoid, hep A, polio

i would be interested in personal comments and also the kind of advice
that practitioners give to their patients.

best wishes
mark

Dear Mark,

Almost every year I have been having people to go to India from UK where i I
live. The way
I handled it is that:
a ) To take Hep-sulph 30 one daily for 3 days starting a day before
travelling,
mainly because Hep acts as a repellent, is a good polycres remedy and has a
big picture as well as ditox. Also Hahnemann later in his life started his
patients with Sulph to open up.
b) If in high risk area then to take Nosod Malaria one daily as needed for
privention (I've been told not to use Nosod for cure unless as an indicated
remedy ).
c) in case of being infected contact Medic as well as taking Sulpher30c in
the morning and Chin 30c in the evening as needed.
d) I normally give them typhoid, hepatitis nosod....... to take with them,
if they
are at risk can take for prevention not for cure. For cure I suggest them to
contact a homoeopath if you can..
And off course to take repellent, taking extra care about water there and so
on. I had one case that got Malaria and treated himself successfully with
Sulph and Chin.
Tetanus, you can take Ledm tincture with you to apply in the area and ledum
30c to take orally if need it. I hope it has been helpful, Enjoy your trip.
Best Wishes,
Fatima
