anyone know ....

Post by Rochelle »

... of a remedy I can give to a 20 week pregnant type 1 diabetic whose blood sugar has shot high because her insulin pump wasn't working properly. She has now fixed it so I presume the readings will be down but she says she feels "crap" not that this is very descriptive!!! I will try to get more out of her!!

I suggest:
Lots of meat protein, Vit C in thousands of mg, high dose alpha
lipoic acid (800mg), plenty herb gymnema sylvestre, NO carbs, as a
starting place to bring it down - the nutrients are needed or it will
"sticik" high regardless of insulin.
Plus matched remedy.

Needs protein to fix it - see my previous email - may also be
dehydrated - and need potassium.

Thanks for that. I did speak to her on Skype later and the blood sugar had started to go down. She said she was hungry so I told her to have some nuts so at least I said the correct thing. She had also taken some Gymnema herb in capsules as this is something we found could keep her blood sugar down if she fancied a binge at a party when she was injecting before she went on a pump. I was concerned if Gymnema is OK in pregnancy.
Thanks for all that good advice which I will pass on to her. Re remedies she ranges on the S, Calc, Lyco path. Have never found a definite similimum I am happy with for her. She had a Calc 200 last time I saw her. She was very anxious last night about this and I told her if the anxiety continues to take an Aconite as it is a fear. She was fearful to get pregnant to begin with because she was told as a 12 yr old she and the baby would die if she did being diabetic by a doctor and this she remembers!!! I think she will need a lot of aconite towards the birth.

Mind; FEARS, phobias, general; death, of; childbirth, during (3) ACON, coff, plat,

Thanks

They'd be okay - meat/fish/egg is actually even better as nuts are
quite high in carbs as well as having protein.
But protein is what "releases" what I call the "locked" high blood
glucose, and which will not come down just with insulin.
It's a great herb, and if taken before eating, prevents some carb
absorption - but long-term it aids in actual pancreas healing too.
A formulation called "Sugar-Ban" is the best version on the market
IMO :-)
It has been used for 2000 years in Ayurvedic medicine (called Gurmar
there) - and I can find no negative reports - however I also can find
no "western" studies on pregnant women.
If someone has access to Ayurvedic records perhaps for it???

The herb is from a rain forest vine in central/southern India.

Namaste,
Irene

Dear Irene
I didn't realise that nuts were high in carbs. Maybe cheese is a better option or would you say that it is too high in fat.

It is concentrated protein that is needed.
So the only good options are meat, fish and egg, with meat being best
as it is most dense with protein.

Is the person vegetarian?
If so the best of a bad choice is then brewer's yeast, but it is not
fun to eat in quantity, and will NOT work like meat.
