Re: some advice wanted

Post by Tanya Marquette »

i am trying to deal with a woman, age 65, who has become suicidal
due to non-stop illness.
i am concerned about dealing with the depression and suicidal thoughts
as the center of the case or how much weight to give the physical issues.
i have known this woman at least 10 yrs. she is always sick with rare
moments of health. she attibutes her illness to some nose surgeries when
younger which destroyed the immune building structures in the nose.
as a consequence, she is very subject to infection that results in intense
head colds, massive mucous that runs down her throat, keeps her awake,
and has her spending days trying to expel thick mucous from the throat.
given the structural damage to her nose, i dont know that the susceptibility
to colds can be adequately dealt with, but i would hope that some remedies
might help control them and ease her healings.
considering other health problems that i have witnessed, i would say she
has a high anxiety for health with despair of recovery. she has similar
reactions to a condition of ibs which acts up periodically. she has limited
her food intake significantly.
her preferred method of death is overdose of meds. she acutally had
collected them over the years in preparation for the time that she could not
take it anymore. the meds were stolen from her last year which sent her
into a tailspin. having possession of these meds was a comfort to her.

1. Find the best constitutional remedy
2. Get her to do EFT (www.emofree.com )
3. Be there for her (is she a friend?)
4. Encourage her to do a hobby when she feels well
5. See a cranial sacral osteopath who may be able to help with the post nasal catarrh as it got rid of mine
6. Check if she is on any drugs as many can cause depression
These are the first things that have come into my mind so I hope are useful

i have talked with her about eft and she resists doing it.
i can mention it again and offer to do it with her.
she has plenty of interests but is not feeling up to doing
any of them, including reading and she is an avid reader
i think a do would be good, but trying to get her to spend $
is an impossibility. the discussion the other day was that she
wanted a psychiatrist to give her an anti-depressant but her
health plan has noone who will do this without seeingher
on a regular basis. she was a therapist, herself, and will not
do this. plus the fact that she doesnt drive and we are in a
rural community that would require driving to any practitioner.
i don't think she is on any drugs at the moment, just nutritional
supplements.
i have been trying for a long time to have her case taken, but
she seems to have a resistence to homeopathy. it is too out
of the box for her. we will see how desperate she gets. that is
what will move her i think.
and she is a good friend

I can imagine it being very frustrating for you if she is a friend. Tell her to go to www.Tatlife.com if she is resistant to EFT as she might go for this Meridian therapy. Some of my patients really find a lot of help from it. I think there is a video somewhere on the site to show how to do it.

There are people born without a 'nose' some loose it
in accidents and some to diseases.
I would suggest you look at Antim tart. in low potency.

Tanya,

This person has food allergies that are causing her post nasal catarhh,
the IBS is a strong indication she has been eating the allergic foods causing profound mucous secretions, eg wheat, corn, dairy.

Suggest you use Calendula spray 30c, into each nostral at HS; alternate with a netti pot & sea salt to clean out the sinuses; use Scheussler tissue salts (all 12 combo); then find her constitutional remedy, most likey Ars alb.

what is HS? i am having a mental blank.
and who makes calendula spray? i don't recall seeing it
locally.
i think her case is quite complicated and goes back to
childhood. diet in youth was sugar coupled with anorexic
type eating (dont know that it was full blown anorexia).
i will take your suggestions to mind and think about tem.
