Messed up case?- Update
Re: Messed up case?- Update
This child is worse - worse tummy aches and intermittent fevers. Mum took her to the doctor today who ordered blood tests but mum phoned all the blood test centres and they have no appointments for 2 weeks. Our NHS is a disgrace. Then mum finds out today that a friend who stayed at 1/2 term in February had Hepatitis A!!!!! Mum is going to stand at the doctor's door tomorrow and try to demand that he puts an urgent notice on these blood tests and tries to arrange one immediately. The other thing mum might so is try to get her admitted to hospital.
Other than this since the Sulphur 200 , she has been eating a very little more and the constipation is now better!!
I do have Hepatitis A 30 but don't want to give it until blood tests confirm what this is. meanwhile I have told mum to dissolve a Bell in water and give a teaspoon every 15 mins for about 4 doses if the fever comes up again.

Re: Messed up case?- Update
Last Remedy I gave her was Sulphur 200 which has got rid of the constipation again but totally no joy with the pain in the stomach which is preventing her eating. I managed to get out of her today that it is a stabbing pain which comes and goes suddenly. The pain can be in different places; she pointed to her stomach and abdomen. She can get the pains before foos as well as while eating now. She woke with them this morning.
She looked the picture of health just now except she has lost loads of weight and is very thin now. However when she gets the pain she goes very pale and has shadows under her eyes says mum so she doesn't think it is psychological. Her doctor weighed her a few weeks ago but didn't this morning when she went there. The doctor has ordered blood tests but she refused to let him take them there and then so Mum is trying again on Friday with the bribe of a present she wants. After the results of the bllod test the doctor is willing to send her to a paediatrician. She is also getting headaches which she describes as heavy and can make her dizzy. She doesnt appear to be anaemic as on pressing her nails the colour comes straight back.
Today I have given her Carbo Veg as mum says there is a lot of offensive flatulence and also eructations. It is just a thought. I am still thinking of Morgan Gaertner. Mum will keep in touch.
I also thought of going up on the Sulphur 200 but since the 200 did nothing for the pains at all I really don't think it is the correct remedy.
I thought of coeliacs but on researching it I see that it has diarrhoea so have discounted it.
No furthur nose bleeds and one verrucca has gone.
I still have printed out all your suggestions from last time I posted but any further thoughts welcome.

Hi Rochelle,
If you were to for the moment ignore the physical complaints and see
what you can find of her energetic / emotional make-up, what could you
say about that? (And if you don't have much on that, maybe it would be
a direction to try?)
Can you get anything about what / how she feels--something along the
lines of "central delusion" I guess, tho I don't know how to do that,
exactly. But things such as how she feels about this and that; what
she likes and dislikes and why; fears, dreams, aspirations,
vulnerabilities? Also, how does she feel *about* her situation and her
ills--persecuted / embarrassed / trapped, whatever? It does seem that
you need to search beyond the bounds of her specific physical
symptoms--unless maybe there's more detail to be found about any of
them?
At 10 she's probably not very introspective, but maybe asking after
dreams, music, movies, books??
I sympathize!!!!

Dear Shannon,
OK next time I see her I will try as that is a good idea but she is a very young 10 yr old. It's one of those families where the kids go to dad for the weekend!! I am just looking at the first consultation and I see the usual "I get sad when people won't let me play with them and people ignore me." By people she meant her peers at school. She is quite Phos and this is what I initially gave her in 2006 but when I changed to Sulphur after Mum mentioned the constipation since a baby she the molluscum that she first came about popped and went away.

Hi--
Celiac doesn't have to present diarrhea; it is known as the "great pretender." I diagnose kids with celiac regularly who present with any number of findings that are non-gastrointestinal but rather neurological (I am a neurologist). Gastrointestinal symptoms can range from constipation, to flatulence, to diarrhea, etc. Significant weight loss is classic. It is a simple blood panel, but you can also advise her to do a trial off of gluten (and dairy if she has ongoing symptoms) to see if her symptoms improve.
Just my non-homeopathic 2 cents...

Messed up case?- Update
Dear Dale
Funnily enough I did think about that when I saw her but don't know why I didn't look at it further. I also now see in my notes from the previous consultation I had also written that I was looking at a Ferrum salt !!
Thanks for the reminder.

Re: Messed up case?- Update
The tests for coeliac disease are improving. They now have genetic tests which, in combination, can give a fairly accurate picture of who is at risk for the sydrome and who is not. However, there appear to be different variants and different severity, as well as different genes. So there are few false positives from tests, but still quite a few false negatives (tests that say a person is not sensitive to gluten when in fact they are).
The test that works is to follow a strict gluten-free diet for up to three months, and see how much difference it makes. The reason it can take that long is that the lining of the person's small intestine must have time and be able to regenerate some of its ability to function for the person to feel better (gluten destroys the lining of the small intestine in susceptible individuals). This can take several months to happen. The big risks of unrecognized gluten-sensitivy come from malabsorption of nutrients -- which can happen in the gluten sensitive even if they are eating an excellent diet. So over time, such diseases as depression, anxiety, osteoporosis, lymphoma, small bowel carcinoma, and even such generally unusual diseases (today) as scurvy, beri-beri, and pellagra can manifest thmselves as a result of gluten intolerance. I generally recommend a gluten free period for individuals who present with a history of multiple allergies, rashes, frequent colds or sinus infections, or digestive problems (constipation, diarrhea, gas, frequent nausea, etc....) -- and at least 70% of them report feeling much better after the trial gluten-free period. Others don't manage to achieve a gluten-free diet, beause of unwillingness, denial, or inability to learn all the foods where gluten may be hidden, and of course for them no change occurs. Under homeopathic treatment, such individuals can reach a symptom-free state, but it's not certain that the disease has been conquered, and generally, with aging or stress, the condition again becomes symptomatic. It's classified as an auto-immune disease, and with the destruction of the small intestine plus its malfunctioning, it belongs to both the psoric and the syphilitic miasms. Remedies that often come up are any remedy that is << bread or farinaceous, of course. Often a dairy allergy also results from the small intestine damage. I've seen Lyc, Kali-c, Nat-s act helpfully, among other remedies.

Dear Rosemary,
Thanks for that and I will suggest it to Mum. The child is having a blood test tomorrow and I don't know what this will show but it is the first stage of being referred to a consultant which could take months!!! Meanwhile I have suggested a product like Ensure + to try as she is so thin now.
