Vital Force- Some new (old ?) facts

Post by J.VENKATASUBRAMANIAN »

Hello All,
It has been sometime since I posted here. But I am glad that I have
come back to post atleast something relevant partly to the list.

This blog post has been in the making for long and today I completed
it. Please see it at

You can post your comments at the site itself. Some of you may be
interested in my other posts there too.

Thanks for the explanation of prana, Venkat.

Can you, or anyone else, help me with this question? How do the seven chakras relate to the ten divisions of prana?

Many thanks.

Hello Fran,
The first thing about the chakras and prana is that they both are said
to exist in the astral body.(Sukshma Sareera in Sanskrit)
Next, it is the prana , which is said to rise through the central nadi
in the Spine called the 'sushumna' passing through all the chakras.

When the chakras are discussed, esp in the hatha yogic/ pranayamic
context, only the prana and apAna are discussed. In Gita also I have
seen this. I will be able to post more when I gain insight into this.

Venkat
