rubric request statues

Post by tg.partington »

Has anybody any ideas/rubrics for 'fear of statues'?
Fear manifests in dreams as well as px not being prepared to go
anywhere where she knows there will be lots of statues (cemeteries,
galleries, Rome etc) or watch on TV.

what do these statues mean to her? what is the fear really about?
what prompted this fear? there must be something in her past that
triggered this unusual fear.

Hia Theresa

I could not find any direct fear associated with statues unless some one can
search the MM.

But as it is happening in both dreams and real life, 'something deep' is
happening regarding statues. I would ask more questions. Like how long has
it been going, what started it, what do the statues represent to the
patient, and what it makes them feel like, etc

Regards

Murphy has fear of cemeteries - phos, strram but as others have said it really depends on what the statues represent to the patient. Best wishes

Thanks for responses to this. I had asked around it but not got very far - may be time for some Bombay tactics.

I would first look for *what* they fear due to seeing a statue by trying
to see context:
Is it big ones only (might fall on them), the coldness, being lifeless,
being motionless, being the receiver of bird deposits, being too
white/grey/etc, fear of becoming one, a past bad experience - what about
the statue is an issue? Is it okay if live people pose as
statues/mannikins - or is it death-related.

Then look at inanimate object rubrics (6 in radar) and statue rubrics (8
in radar);
fear of cemeteries is a rubric;
and whatever comes up as context.... it may end up more like old and
dead stuff problem (museum and cemetery) than statues problem as such -
maybe it's just an association that needs to be unravelled.

Just a thought...

Also, as was suggested, ask after the "feeling", what she fears/thinks
will happen from the statues--come to life perhaps, and ??
Any other fears, or nightmares past or present?

If that fear weren't in the case, what remedies would you be looking at?

Hi Theresa,
As others have said, I would ask deeper - why is she afraid, what about it frightens her.
Might be like fear of faces (Calc-C and Solanacea - nightshade - remedies).

Erica
