Vodka v Brandy

Post by Michael »

It would be very interesting if Luise could explain
what kind of Brandy (Schnaps?) was used in Germany in
Hahnemann's time and what kind of brandy he meant. How
pure was it?

Hi Michael,

Hahnemann used the word "Weingeist", literally translated this is
"spirit of wine" and means alcohol/ethanol. So it seems he used
straight ethanol.

Later, in France, he sometimes used "carbon" for the dilutions. I do
not think that we know what he meant and when and why he used it
instead of alcohol.

Regards

Luise
