Anticipatory anxiety
Anticipatory anxiety
Any ideas on this one. I gave her Lyco before but she didn't think it had helped. I just wonder what else might come into anyone's mind. I can't find a rubric form heart banging (palpitation) with anticipation except Complete 2008, Heart; palpitation heart; anticipation, from:, aur-m-n[1], dys-co[1], mosch[1], ozone[1], stroph[1] which really doesn't do anything for me!!
In the past this lady has done well on Carc and Ignatia at different times but I don't feel either of these are called for.
""I am getting uptight about next Tuesday a.m. When we have our first breakfast meeting of the new year. I will be called upon to stand and talk about my role etc.
Its on my mind for days before then I sit with my heart literally banging while they go round the table until its my turn. I just take a deep breath and launch forth and while I am talking I am reasonably o.k but I don't feel I come over as well as I could, I feel I gabble to get it over and done with. And often find I have left things out that are important. ""
Thanks

Re: Anticipatory anxiety
Hi Rochelle,
What about Dys-co - or one of it's related anxious remedies. One book
that I've got lists them as Anac, Arg-n, ARS, Cadm, Kalm, Verat-a,
Verat-v.
A couple of repertories have:
Anticipation- Stagefright: anac, arg-n, gels
Phatak has:
Heartbeat thumping: aur, iod, rhod, spongia, zinc.
Heartbeat violent: gels, verat-v
Boeninghausen:
Blood, heartbeat, violent: is a bigger rubric.
Combined:
Chest, palpitation, heart, anxiety from: is also a reasonable size
rubric - just the bold remedies are Acon, Ars, Aur, Calc, Chin, Dig,
Nat mur, phos ac, phos, puls, spig, sulph.
Arg-n, Kalm and Verat are all in there in 2nd degree.
My task for tomorrow is to learn how to copy and paste rubrics from
Isis to here - it's hard work typing them in!
Gail.

Hi Rochelle and Gail,
I have a friend who is an engineer who is under tremendous stress on his
job... He has been having "fainting spells". His doctor's EEG and other
tests show nothing.... From what I've read, it fits the bill for something
called Orthostatic Intolerance. He has a thought, it's worrisome, and then
feels his blood pressure dropping through the floor. Possibly some of
these rubrics & remedies you've posted below would be helpful. Thanks so
much!

Re: Anticipatory anxiety
Dear Mary
Yes I had thought of both of these.
I have a feeling she has taken Aconite successfully before but I
will have to check her notes to see for what!!
(Am up to my eyes changing ISP and email addresses so if I don't
answer every post on this it is not because I don't appreciate them!!
Thank you everyone. Am about to change my Yahoo group address now!!!)

Re: Anticipatory anxiety
Hi,
Thanks for your suggestion. I don't think Arg Nit is required as I
would expect her to be running to the loo before the presentation
which she doesn't do as I asked. Dys Co I wouldn't have thought of.
I will have a read!!

Re: Anticipatory anxiety
Dear Rochelle
I am making this is a general remark.
The patient DOES NOT have to exhibit all the symptoms of a remedy.
But the Remedy must have shown similar symptoms to the patient's.
So in my view if "she does not run to the loo before a presentation" it is
NOT a good enough reason to discount a remedy.
Regards
Soroush

Re: Anticipatory anxiety
Yes Soroush I know this but I have to find a reason for giving one
of the Rx in that rubric!!!:-) It is easier to find a reason not to
give it. But seriously I would expect the running to the loo with
Arg Nit as it is part of the anxiety.
The reason why I gave Lyco previoiusly was because once she gets up
to do it the presentation goes fine and from her last email it does
look more like an underconfidence thing. I am trying to find Rx
which has the banging heart AND the anticipatory anxiety.
