Re the Scarlet Fever case
Re the Scarlet Fever case
The doctor has been today as I wanted to check that there were no complications. He said it was Scarlet Fever and he had only ever seen 2 cases. This girl is not ill with it which was why I was so suspicious and I think I would have been happier if she had had some sort of fever to bring the toxins out. Her throat still looks red but she has no real sore throat. The rash is still there and is maybe fading very little. Her only problem is the panic she gets if she looks at the rash which is on covered parts only. Her panic is because it looks serious and is not normal. I think the 10M Aconite I gave her for the fear (and it does have scarlet rash and throat in it) was the best I could do. I don't think there is anyway that I can get the rash to fade any faster. I thought of giving her Strep but since she is not ill physically I feel leave well alone.Although I have seen most of the rest of the family I have never seen this girl so have no idea of a constitutional remedy for her.
I would appreciate any other advice for this case. Has anyone ever seen a case of Scarlet fever with no fever before? (Dr Roz???)
Thanks

It might have helped to have water potency that could be repeated
And you don't want to push the rash to fade - that will push the disease
inward to organs etc
You want the rash to come out nicely, so if it is slower than normal to
recede need to take that into account with treatment too (Apis works well
with measles rashes slow to come out). And yes, I think the lack of fever
is significant.

Re: Re the Scarlet Fever case
Belladona of course is (3) under fear, and altho i know how much we all
love specifics
, but given the appearance, and the fear (easy
symptom to gauge effectiveness from) and the diagnosis, why wouldn't
this have been as good a "one-sided" try as Aconite? Low potency just
to see? (I don't think this is "knee-jerk"... Was there a specific
reason not to try it?)

Re: Re the Scarlet Fever case
Another thought--is this someone you'd prescribed for before, and is
there anything about her case or past medical history that could be
relevant? E.g. has she had "normal" disease expressions in the past?
Maybe this is a place where the constitutional remedy could be
relevant--by which I simply mean the chronic remedy that would suit
her before or outside of this rash?

Re: Re the Scarlet Fever case
I would say the rash is out now. The disease probably started last
Thursday - a week ago with a vague sore throat. On the Friday she got
swollen gland. She felt fine on Saturday night and went out with her friends
and admits to smoking too many cigarettes and getting drunk. On Sunday the
rash started appearing. So it didn't come up suddenly which is yet another
reason why I didn't go for the Bell.

If there had been any hint of a fever I would have given Bell. But there was no suddenness, no fever, no real Bell Symptoms IMHO!!

Re: Re the Scarlet Fever case
I have seen other members of the family but not her before. Her mother is Lachesis and over quite a few years has now gone to 50M - last dose being last January. Other family members were not related.

Yeah, makes sense...
Has the aconite removed her fearfulness re the remaining rash?
