There is no evidence that the People's demands for homoeopathy has gone down in fact the reverse is true if you look at Homoeopathic remedy sales.
PCT's in UK are very reluctant to fund homoeopathic treatment - not looking at how the patients feel after they have been treated but by listening to those who are anti Homoeopathy. These are the followers of the same guys who refused to enter in to their reports to Parliament the success rate of the London Homoeopathic hospitals during the Cholera epidemic in the late 19th century. When challenged as to why they had not reported the high success rate of Homoeopathic hospitals compared to the others, the reply had come that it was because Homoeopathy was not scientific.
One definition of science that I would use would be:
'Science is a systematic study and knowledge of natural or physical phenomena of observed material facts, skills and techniques.'

If something is shown to work - but we do not understand how it works, that does not make mean that it cannot work. The evidence is there for all to be seen. However, apart from the cases of epidemics (where even Dr Ben Goldacre admitted that Homoeopathy works) homoeopathy is an 'individualised' medicine and when tested by the rules for General / allopathic medicine, it does not shine.

Hello group, just thought I would add another dimension to the debate of who does harm to whom. In the UK, 500 patients die every year in hospitals up and down the country from acquired hospital infections, and another 1500 die every year from the secondary effects of having aquired a hospital infection. I don't remember any outcry from a newspaper or TV programme of the harm done to innocent people just because they were ill and needed hospital care. Perhaps we need to become more political and find a way of fighting back, and use these (scientific) statistics to show the public who is harming them. Grace

Off course you are right, Grace,
totally right. Also for the rest of the world.
But:
there are these nice films with the animated viruses, which seem to swim in your / my body, deep red colored or with poison green; very good painted even like these animated films from Japan, which our children like to see.
It's a question of manipulation, of economy, of pharmacy - - -
What do you want to do, whom do you want to tell, that these actors are virtuell - when the people believe that these nice scientific viruses swim through their lever, lungs, stomaches... ?
xx Gisa
ps. exactly translated: virus = poison

absolutely. my sense is that the right wing of any
movement has no shame in making the wildest of statements
without any regard to veracity. the left of any movement
goes on the defensive and bends over backwards to be polite
and academic while allowing the attacks to divide in order
to conquer.
isnt it about time that homeopathy (the way out left of the
holistic health movement) begin to go on the offensive.
with all the experience and intelligence that exists, the
homeopathic community is quite endowed to be able to wage
a counter attack.
when homeopathy is accused of being bogus science, why not
fight back with the reality of the bogus science that runs
allopathy. why not cite the death and disablement from
allopathy--over and over and over again like a mantra. that
is how the current power structure continually gets over with
the public. was it goebels who stated that you tell the lie,
and tell it over and over until the people begin to believe it.1
well, we dont have to lie, but we can begin to publicize our
position like the same broken record. quippy statements, repeated,
and some date to back us up.

No kidding!!
And also, of course, the comparison between number of people harmed by
use of homeopathics (and nutritionals and herbs) versus number harmed
by even properly used and properly prescribed pharmaceuticals. Yeah,
who's harming whom?

And of course we must not forget that (research?!) in the UK shows that, in half of all port-mortems, it has been found that the doctors had made the wrong diagnosis, prior to death. Is this not considered to be significant? And yet Dr Ben Goldacre (medical writter in the UK) does not seem to be bothered to investigate this in his weekly newspaper column. If we were to seriously put our minds to it, I am sure that we could come up with much damaging evidence with which to fight back. Only just today on the radio we hear of a hospital in Kent where 95 people have died in just one year from a hospital acquired infection (C. Diff.). The allopathic advantage is that they have financial resources provided by the drug companies to relentlessly attack homeopathy. Grace

Well said and "researched" !
Do you think that some blames go to ourselves because homeopaths are not at ease with each other ? Having read many of the postings in this group, one would note the display of senoirity from the air.
I certainly like to read your postings, K DA SILVA-HILL.
Thank you.
