Tub for psora [was: Have any of the fern being proven?

Post by Shannon Nelson »

Hi Erica,
Now that is an interesting bit that I did not remember reading! Do you
remember where you got it from, and any reason?
Thanks,
Shannon

Hi Shannon,
Yes...
Dr. Luc De Schepper's text Hahnemann Revisited notes the old masters preferred Tuberculinum over Psorinum in breaking through a psoric miasmatic block. He also indicates:
"Tuberculinum is a composite picture of Sulphur, Calcarea, Phosphorous, and Silicea and a deep-seated antipsoric; in fact it is a greater antipsoric than Psorinum! Its similarity to Sulphur is so great that any Sulphur case which fails to respond to Sulphur may be tentatively considered a Tuberculinum case on the strength of its Sulphur symptoms." (Hahnemann Revisited, p 333)
Other references:
Hahnemann's Chronic Diseases...
Psora hardly ever can be cured with a single remedy. Sulphur alone is not enough.
"It is, therefore, not strange, that one single and only medicine is insufficient to heal the entire psora and all its forms, and that it requires several medicines in order to respond...The cure of an old psora that has been deprived of its eruption, whether it may be latent and quiescent, or already broken out into chronic diseases, can never be accomplished with sulphur alone...the psora that is still latent within, as well as the psora that has developed into one of the innumerable chronic diseases springing from it, is very seldom cured by any single anti-psoric remedy, but requires the use of several of these remedies -in the worst cases the use of quite a number of them- one after the other, for its perfect cure." (CD, p. 105).
"The best time for taking a dose of antipsoric medicine seems to be, not an hour before going to bed but, rather, early in the morning while fasting...After taking the medicine the patient should keep perfectly quiet at least a full hour, but without going to sleep (sleep delays the beginning of the action of the medicine). He must avoid during this hour, as indeed throughout the treatment, all disagreeable excitement, nor should he strain his mind immediately after taking the dose, in any way, either by reading or computing, by writing, or by conversations requiring meditation." (CD, p 137)
Hope it Helps!
Truly,
Erica

If I understood correctly from Henny Heudens-Mast’s talks at the NCH conference in Denver (and her book on miasms), she was saying that the best homeopathic treatment is trying to achieve a **balanced** psora, not the removal of psora, a bit different from what Dr. H wrote, seems to me. Fascinating Erica, thank you!
Do you know, did Hahnemann write these during times when he had already
recognized Tubercular miasm as an entity in itself?

The part where he says that a patient under antipsoric treatment must
avoid "all disagreeable excitement"--wow, if my 7th grader ever gets
past his sycotic and tubercular issues to the (visibly lurking) psoric,
I will have to pull him out of school to treat him! :-D (Kidding, I
hope...)

Anyway, thank you. This is food for thought...!

Sorry for the delay in responding! Yes, different from what Hahnemann says in Chronic Disease...
When the treatment is about half completed, the diminished disease commences to return into the state of latent psora; the symptoms grow weaker and weaker, and at the last the attentive physician will only find traces of it; but he must follow these to their complete disappearance, for the smallest remnant retains a germ for a renewal of the old ailment. (CD, p.136)
Dr. Luc says all traces should be eradicated lest it flare up or form another psoric disease when the miasm is triggered. He said it could take years but would be worth it.
HIH!
Truly,
Erica
