Re: Rash - any ideas

Post by Rochelle »

I had a phone call tonight from a former patient about her 17 yr old daughter who is in an absolute panic about a scarlet rash she has.
It started on Thursday with swollen glands and a sore throat but no fever that she can remember. Then she started to get a rash. Apparently she went out with her friends on Saturday night!! Now today she is in a panic as the rash has joined up and is bright red.. It is not on her face. It is a little bit raised and sometimes slightly itchy. She is not feeling ill. She went to the doctor today or should I say the doctor came out to the car in case she had rubella. He looked down her throat and said it was very red and that she probably has scarlet fever and gave her antibiotics which she has not taken. The girl is in a panic because of the way the rash looks and that is all I can get out of her. She is coming in the morning to see me and meanwhile I told her to take a couple of doses of Aconite 30 which they have in the house. She seems to think she has something terrible and I told her I will probably just laugh and she said that this would make her feel better!!
Anyone any ideas - not that we go on disease names anyway - but out of interest. I have looked up about scarlet fever and it appears that she would have a strawberry tongue which I will look for. The scarlet colour seems to discount rubella and roseaola seems to be an infantile disease.
Thanks

My wife had measles when she was 21. I read that
infantile diseases sometimes happen later in life,
this is considered to be an indication for
Carcinosinum.

i do not mean it is measles, I mean that it can be
anything. It is better not to discard infantile
diseases. People are ill from birth now, so they can
have anything possible at any age.

Rash - any ideas

Post by ourhealth »

scarlet fever -
smooth rash ss: Bell.
coarse dark rash ail. phyt. rhus-t. sulph
rash with a cough: ant-c. con. hyos.
infantile illnesses use to show a time of developmental change - Acontie for the panic sounds like a good call but taking her case will clarify what she needs. KB

Thanks for that.
I gave the girl Aconite 10M because of the fear and anxiety about the rash.
She thinks it won't go away and is panicking but I also think it is tied up
with the fact she can't go to work.
Her throat was very red, including the top palate and uvula. However she has
no trouble eating or drinking. The tongue was white with smooth edges. There
was possibly the strawberry tongue but you had to really look for it. The
rash was joined up on the tops of her arms but on the torso and the rest of
the arms it was patchy- very bright red with normal skin in between. I did
take some photos if anyone is interested to have them sent offlist as I
don't think I can send them to the list. There is no fever now and I don't
think there has been any either. She has a slight cough with greenish
expectorant but says that this is not unusual for her. She is no more or
less thirst than usual.

She wanted more pillules as she didn't think the 1 I gave her would do
anything so I gave her a couple of pillules of sac lac and told her to
dissolve them in a bottle of water and shake and sip 4 x a day!!
I was also wondering about Strep as a precaution as it has despair and
hopeless about recovery in the mentals. I have 30 and 200 in stock. What do
others think?

Thanks

Hi Rochelle-
what is happening with this case at all? Given the fact that it came
all of a sudden this should be cured by now- any feedback,

thanks
