yes, it is. he is very anti-grains and high on
protein. but he does talk about body types in a
limited way. there are protein types and carb types
and those that are mixed. he says you must know your
type to create the diet necessary for your body. and
he has questionnaires to help people figure that out.

despite mercola's affinity for meats, i think most of us are the mixed type.

he also promotes coconut oil instead of the polyunsaturated vegetable oils.
the material i have read indicates that the veg oils are actually a culprit
in promoting insulin resistance where coconut oil prevent this from
happening.
i have switched to cooking with coconut oil and do find it much more
satisfying as a food than regular oils.

I do not trust Mercola and what's on his website - he does not care
whether it is true or not (and will not remove it even when proved wrong).
Rather use real research and books by those doing the research -
Perricone for example.

Blood type is more scientifically relevant - you can use Dr
Peter D'Adamo's research on that - and add in the ER4YT blood type
encyclopedia info if you want the best book on that.

The trick is to use the right expert for the right aspects of the issues
- namely the things where the individual is expert.

For example use D'Adamo for blood type diet foods that are not
inflamamtory but NOT for diabetes ideas.
Use Perricone for anti-inflamamtory issues - but not for Blood Type
specifics or diabetes ones.
Use Bernstein for diabetes type issues but not for diet specifics (just
the diet principles of low carb, high protein, when to eat, when to
exercise...)

So to get the best, use only the area where the expert is expert - and
get the rest where there is a different more appropriate expert.

I agree Mercola does not retract anything even if he makes mistakes.

Coconut does not prevent it - it is neutral and handles hi temp for

cooking and do not overheat it.
To prevent inflamamtion AND reverse it - use extra virgin olive oil and
fish oil. the EVo has omega-9 and antioxidants stronger than anywhere
else and the fish oil has ANTI-inflamamtory omega-3's that are already
activated. (Nowhere else has that.)

Hi Shannon,

The Aroma Turbo Oven advertised on his site (http://www.mercola.com/store.htm)for a looooong time included some wording about the negative effects of microwaves being like homeopathy.

Many of us emailed to him about this.

As I am just now rechecking, the ad has been reworded and NOW reads:

"Just What Is Wrong With Your Microwave?

If you are familiar with homeopathy, you will instantly realize the problem. Microwaves heat your food by causing it to resonate at very high frequencies. While this can effectively heat your food, it also causes a change in the chemical structure of the food that can lead to health issues."
