Insect bite

I got an insect bite a couple of days ago on my arm and thought nothing of it. It is now very swollen a couple of inches all the way around the bite and when I press on the swollen part it hurts!! It isn't terribly itchy - just a bit and looks red. Difficult to know if it feels hotter than the surrounding skin- OK maybe it is now I have investigated it!!!! I have just taken a Ledum as I thought it looks more like a puncture wound but in retrospect maybe I should have taken an Apis. Don't know if it better for hot or cold because I hadn't really noticed it until someone pointed it out just now!!
Anyone with any ideas???
