Another menses pain
Another menses pain
This time its a girl age 13 who started menses at 11. Recently she has started with bad period pain centred in her thighs. I gave her Calc 200 which got her right after Glandular fever last year and also through an acute last year although it may have been the Bell I followed it with!! The presentation of the pain in June was:-
The Calc appear to do very little - the only change with her next period was she didn't get the nausea. She also tried Cham 6 and Vib 3x for the pain but neither did anything. Previously Virburnum in a tincture worked pretty quickly and she came to me because it wasn't working any more. I really didn't get a lot more out of her this time. She is another child that if she doesn't know the answer to a question can go into tears!!
>
I don't think the Calc did anything. Any suggestions gratefully received!!!

Re: Another menses pain
This might be useful
FEMALE; MENSES; painful, dysmenorrhea; flow; agg.; the more the flow, the more the pain (8) : cimic., cann-i., cann-s., lap-gr-m., phos., tarax., tarent., tub.
Cim and phos could have pain extending downwards. Hope of some help, Jean

Re: Another menses pain
Hi Rochelle,
There is in Kent genitalia - female a rubric pain/labor-like/extending
to thighs with just a few remedies.
Perhaps one of them will fit the rest.
crossed wiht genitalia - female pain/labor-like/menses during there
remain aloe, apis, cham, kali-car, nux-v, ust.
Perhaps one of them will fit.
(Labor-like seems to describe the kind of pain (?)

Re: Another menses pain
Just a few possibilities:
Pain only after flow: mag-c
Hot flushes during menses: nap p
Labor like pains extending to thighs: aloe, apis, cham., con., kali c, nat m, nux v, stram, ust, vib
Dysmenorrhea:
perspiration - cold after - cast.
pain, thighs - cham, chel, cimic, kali c, rhus t, sepia, zinc-val.
extending down thighs - berb, cham, chel, cimic, con, crot-h, gels, kali c, mag m, nit-ac, rhus tox, sabin, sars,
sep, vib, zan, zinc-val
The aspect of muscular pain would also make me think of mag phos (cell salt) however the classic sign for Calc Fluor (cell salt) is dysmenorrhea with pain extending to the thigh.

Only a small comment - don't forget the deficiency of Vit B6 as a
maintaining cause.

Re: Another menses pain
Thanks Luise,
I am not convinced about the labour pain. The pain is in the thighs . It is
only when I pushed her that she said that maybe it is in her lower abdomen.
In fact to tell the truth I think the "pushing down" with reference to the
thighs may have been suggested by me trying to get something out of her.
(Bad move!!)

Re: Another menses pain
Dear Donna,
Thanks for these. The main things as I see it is pain in thighs and the subsequent restlessness of the legs. I actually have given her Sepia this time as this has the pain in thighs.
I did find Murphy3, Legs; RESTLESSNESS, legs; menses, during, lac-c[1] but don't see her as Lac C and I don't know where this Rx has comes from

Re: Another menses pain
Hi Rochelle,
From the way I have heard, labour pains can be almost anywhere - one
reason why I thought about "labour-like pain". The other reason was
the agonizing character of the pain.
Mine certainly were not in the lower abdomen. They were in the back
and especially the anus. The nurse told me that this is not at all
unusual - one patient swore that the baby had come out there:-)
So perhaps also thighs? Any midwives reading here?
