I've said my piece and won't belabor it, except to answer this.
In some cases LM dosing is (seen by the patient as) too much "messing
with it".
Some examples:
- my brain injured friend who literally cried when I tried to explain
it to her (no there was no one to help her); at a later stage--after
some good action by single dry doses--she *was* able to switch to LMs,
when appropriate.
- my son, who responds very nicely to single dose/high potencies, and
simplicity is a BIG advantage. (At times I've used LMs with him, and
will at times in the future, but not always.)
- my daughter, who barely stops to *eat*, let alone "take anything",
and likes to think she's in just dandy shape anyway (and she *is*
pretty good, actually)
but I can hit her with an occasional single dose. I think this situation must be common for teens in
particular.
(I could offer many more scenarios, but they would be pretty much
variations on the above. My older folks are just fine with "messing
with it", and for some of them I do like the greater control.)
I continue to feel (borne out by personal experiences of each, come to
think of it) that a well-trained and experienced 4th ed prescriber will
be much preferable to a less-trained and experience 6th ed one. To me
that is a complete no-brainer, but I guess we will each make our own
choices.
