help with rubric

Post by McPhee Family »

I was hoping for help in rubrics for this. I'm having difficulty capturing this. Person reports feeling overly anxious about all she has to do - so much so that she ends up not doing anything. She makes lots of lists but doesn't get anything done. (But the list making amel.) However, she said the main time she feels the anxiety is when someone asks her to do something. She said she feels resentful. Ex. Neighbor recently had a stroke. He asked her if she could go to the store and pick something up for her. She said she got all anxious (felt in her throat and head) because "I'm so busy" but she doesn't do anything (and she knows it). She doesn't have a job, doesn't have anyone at home except husband when he's not working.
She recently has had high blood pressure and it is upsetting her because she said she has always been proud that her blood pressure has been low. She's a heavy smoker and overweight (all in the abdomen, thin legs). Very sleepy.
All other symptoms point to Nat Mur and Sulphur pretty equally.
Any suggestions are most welcome. Thank you!
Truly,
Erica

confining ideas to just rubrics as asked for rather than any other angles then 'responsibility, aversion to' + 'irresolute' + 'anxiety, when anything is expected of him/her' + 'fastidious' + 'aversion to being approached', i.e. resentful when an other wants something from her (this needs enquiring about further) + if she is actually telling lies about her being busy when not then you could use the 'lies, inclination to tell' rubric. Dietary advice and dealing with the smoking would be in order. Joy

anxiety for responsibility comes to mind?

This makes me think of some aspects of the Lanthanides series, want their own power, but difficulty and doubt in asserting it.. Maybe over simplistic but used series several times now where automony seemed an issue. Which one?/ need notes, book and the patient . FWIW, Jean

Thanks Joy! I am open to any and all suggestions but didn't want to
impose too much! Those were good suggestions. She is not really
inclined to lie as much as just feel put out. She said she will
say, "I have to check my schedule." But then she followed with, "I
know I shouldn't feel that way but I feel so busy even though I'm not
really doing anything." But definitely put out is a good one.

In reviewing this tonight, I would love any suggestions. I wasn't sure
how much to include but add'l symptoms include:
suppressed emotion (nothing wrong, nothing to see here), avoids
conflict at all measures. She will "lie" so to speak if she is talking
about something in conversation and even if she doesn't know the
facts, will talk as if she does with authority so much so that she can
convince the other person even if she is wrong. But if the other
person calls her on it, she backs right down or even says the opposite
as if that is what she said all along (see above - avoids conflict).
She did say if she is pushed, she will snap and be angry and not back
down.

She said she gets furious reading newspaper articles (injustice) and
she won't throw away any newspapers (for years) because there might be
an article in there she needs or wants to read.

She also likes to have a big secret or big news and then talk to
someone as if they already should have known about it. When the other
person says they don't know what she's talking about, she'll say, "Oh,
you didn't know..." then proceeds to tell.

She is sleepy all day but falls asleep watching TV about 8:30p then
wakes up off and on until about 11 when she goes to bed. She said she
can't go to bed earlier or she will wake up at 2 or 3 and not get back
to sleep. If she takes a nap in the afternoon, she feels sick. (Tried
Staphysagria, 30c in water with 1 dilution glass. She reported she
felt terrible and didn't want to take it again.)

Indolent. Does not cry easily. She is a packrat. Loves going to garage
sales and coupons - getting the deal is very important to her. House
is overflowing with "treasure." If ever there was a "thinks rags are
riches" ... right down to the thinks old clothes are beautiful.

She craves sweets (candy, chocolate, doughnuts, cookies) and will not
eat much during the day but will eat at night and nibble on the snacks
even in bed.

She worries about every little twinge healthwise. Very sensitive to
criticism. Lost sense of smell and taste. Worries about having to have
a BM when away from the house. History of depression off and on. Teeth
have decayed and has dentures on top. (Age 59)

Sulphur did not have much effect on her. Nat Mur eventually made her
confused and tired. (Dosed in water, started with 30c and then up to
200c over time). I thought of Nat Sulph but not much of they physical
symptoms fit (I don't think).

About 10 years ago she had a 12 pound tumor removed from her ovary.
She hadn't been to the doctor in almost 20 years. She goes now for
annual-or-so check ups. She said she didn't want to go because she
didn't want to be told to quit smoking and lose weight! She said up
until this point she has not wanted to quit smoking and even though
she wants to now, she doesn't think she'll ever be able to. She quit
once for a day but her teeth began to hurt so she started again.

Grew up in home with a strict, abusive father, left home at 18 to get
married and have baby. Has been married 41 years but she acts as if
she can't stand him. She said she does love him but she speaks to him
with anger (suppressed) she said because he is very critical of her.
(He's an arsenicum and *very* critical of everyone.) He's also a heavy
drinker.

Her main complaint right now is the hypertension. She also gets
constipated quite often. She has thick, jet black hair which only
started to gray in the past year or two. She has a tendency to
dandruff and has dry cracked heals with thick skin on her soles. She
has yeast rashes every now and again for which she takes a probiotic.

She also said she has learning disabilites and an auditory perception
problem. She said she had her own language as a child and no one but
her family could understand her until she was about 6 or 7. The
teacher used to call home and put her on the phone to have her mother
translate.

Any thoughts are appreciated. I hope that isn't too much.
Thanks!!
Erica

Hmmm...yes, perhaps... money is tight and she won't get a job. No
reason other than she doesn't want to.
Thanks!

Hmmm... she is post-menopausal and had partial hysterectomy when she
had the huge (benign) tumor removed (see second message) 9 years ago.

I thought of Lachesis as she is very loquacious. Sometimes she will
talk and talk even if no one is listening. Family member reports she
will talk even when the other person is watching TV. She's even
followed him into the bathroom still talking! :-) But the loquacity
seems to come and go.

I will look at that further.
Thanks!
Erica
