Bear Arnica in mind.
Rep:
Intense heat
Sleepiness during heat
Thirstlessness during heat (maybe ?)
Cellulitis
Ingrowing toenail rubric a red herring for the acute I think.
Apis Lach and Gels were good ideas and Id expect one or more of these
4 to help. Dont expect the fever to go suddenly though.

There's no heat.
There's no sleeplessness
Tried Ledum (cellulitis that goes upward)
but so far, nothing has touched it.
no better, no worse
fever broke

In what all respects does his present emotional state differ from usual. Does he want comfort or reject it. Does not seem to complain. What position does he lie in and does he need change of position. Dies he desire the foot elevated. you did say pain in standing earlier .There is an answer, Jean

Hi Cynthia,
If it's no *worse*, perhaps the ledum or something else is touching
it--or has he started antibiotics that would explain that? How is he
feeling overall--is his energy improving, now that the fever has
broken?

His emotional state is peaceful, friendly, appreciative. He likes comfort without being clingy or demanding. Don't complain at all. He will end up lying on one side or the other. I have to remind him to elevate the foot. We didn't realize he was in pain about the foot because he was so sick in bed with the fever which has broke. But he walks around fine.

Re: Temp 103.5--now cellulitis
I was interested to know if this is usual state. Was there a viral infection causing the high fever or was it due to the cellulitus. We do not seen to know. Do not know what to say now. Maybe the first feeling of Arnica was correct and may have helped as there was soreness and sleepiness and he ??/changes sides to find a comfortable position. i find even if resort to antibiotics they work very quickly with help from remedies, Best wishes Jean

I wonder that too. If it were just coincidence that he had the fever with the staff infection that went into cellulitis. This photos shows what his legs look like now.

Hi Cynthia,
Is he improving yet, and do I remember right that he's on antibiotics
now?

Shannon, thanks for asking.
You can see for yourself. I put photos of his legs and feet at this website. The album is "red foot".
http://photos.yahoo.com/culturecross
The photos with names were taken Apr 3.
The photos with numbers were taken today, Apr 4.
The swelling seems to have gone down,
The redness isn't as far up the leg
But there are red blotches.
He's on antibiotics and bed rest.
No other symptoms except being cranky.
Appetite very good.
Doctor said it came from a staff infection.
But as you can see from the photos,
there doesn't seem to be a wound site.
I last gave him Ledum 1LM in MS dose Apr 2.
Any suggestions?
Thanks all, very much,
Cynthia Rankin
