cyst, or ?

Post by Shannon Nelson »

Last night a friend called for advice about a "cyst" on her breast. It
came up very suddenly--began the night before, then got rapidly worse
the following day, and was then "about half the size of my fist". When
she called last night, it was very painful, radiating heat (don't know
how extremely, tho), and she was chilled and shivering. And right at
the end she mentioned that also her joints are hurting (over the past
couple of weeks she'd talked about how she seems to be "developing
arthritis), and she had a headache. Looking back at this now, I wonder
whether this is really a cyst (about which I know next-to-nothing as
yet), or whether it's an abscess or infection?? On quickly reading
about cysts, I do not read any reference to pain!) I had her begin
water doses of hepar sulph, and told her to call back--which she said
would not be until today, so I haven't heard yet. (Off-the-cuff was
all the situation would permit...)

She's had several past episodes of breast cysts. The last one was
aspirated, and the fluid it contained was black. This *sounds*
unusual--is it? I read, "Normal benign cyst fluid is usually yellow,
green or gray..." I have always pegged her for a "carcinosin-type",
tho also planning, still off-the-cuff, to look also at folliculinum and
lac-c; and will "take the case" to whatever extent she's willing to let
me when she calls back! I'll start, of course, by getting as full a
picture as I can of this "acute" episode, if it's still in progress.

I would welcome comments!
Could a "cyst" really do all of this, or does it sound more like
abscess?
Thanks,
Shannon

the totality of is seems to be infection, possibly lymphatic with a
'let out' point in the breast because she has had a h/o this and it is
now her main susceptibility in a more chronic way

the colour of the blood or whatever the discharge was sounds like a
snake or possibly Phos but also Phytolacca (especially with the joints
and headache) but also Anthracinum which has blue/black discolouration
- has she been in touch with any animals recently (if this 'cyst' is
producing a similar discharge).

cysts and abscesses and the like are just 'let out' points, i.e. exits
for 'stuff' that is accumulated - sounds like a full case is needed
with a possible view to Phytolacca.

Thanks Joy,
I'll keep all those in mind, and phytolacca in particular. Still
waiting to hear from her...

A friend's son (20) has a "malady" I'm not sure what to call, or make
of.
She's calling it a cyst (and apparently that's what the ER called it),
but describes it as being pretty much all under the skin. Some weeks
ago it initially appeared, got big enough to be *painful*, and he went
to emergency room, where they drained it and packed the cavity with
gauze. I guess it healed up, but has now reappeared (same spot, I
think). He squeezes the contents out; she says it's a combination of
water and what sounds like pus--but I gather she has this from his
description, rather than seeing it herself.

Cyst? Abscess? Apparently there was no prior injury.
What can cause this kind of thing to spontaneously develop on the leg
of a healthy young adult--any thoughts?

Cause? No doubt it will be the sycotic miasm presenting itself.

Vaccination matter coming out? I don't know what the protocol is in the US but here in the UK when you are around that age and going to university or college, they always offer you Meningitis vaccine, and sometimes boosters of anything else you might 'need'.
On the other hand, it could just be a carbuncle - my son had a small one of these on his thigh when he was around 4 years old (and they gave him antibiotics...aaargh!! I didn't know about homeopathy then) and again you wonder what the body is getting rid of, because that's what it does. In my son's case, it was probably vaccine matter (he was vaccinated ++) and interestingly around the age of 16 he developed an infected ingrowing toenail which recurred again and again and again - we couldn't stop it. I think it was a vent, and probably some people are more prone to these than others (e.g. sycotic types who manufacture pus) Anyway, it's healed up now.
