Then you feel that the warning to not give symph *until* the bones have
been set is inappropriate? I was told that doing so could lead to the
bones "healing" with deformity...

Re: Broken bones...
Hello Shannon,
I have both personal experiences w/many broken
bones and the treatment of others. 3 yrs ago I had a
bad MVA. I was rear ended at about 62 mph. It blew a
disc at L-4 and 5. Along w/ 4 seperate "pars defects".
I also struck the interior of the vehicle w/ the upper
lt. frontal side of the skull from the orbit up. The
ensuing skull fracture and the back injury responded
immediately to Arn. 10m. I took it for 5 days daily.
It alleviated the pain enough to let me begin to think
clearly.
The ensuing back surgery to remove the disc and
fuse it also initially responded to Arnica 200c. After
about 5 days I switched to Symph. 200c. For 2 weeks as
needed. I spent 5 days in recovery, 2 on IV pain meds.
On the 3rd day I managed to get out of bed, fetch my
Arn. and was doing very slow laps around the nurses
station. I left the hospital w/ a bucket of Percocet
and never took one. Now 3 1/2 yrs later I am starting
to feel some arthritic pains after a long day on my
feet.
3 mos. later I had a crushing type injury to my 2
middle finger. They were smashed flat, and required
amputation. Hyper. and Staph are indicated. Staph had
no effect, and hyp. only started to work at 10m. I
used Calen. intercurrently both orally at 30c and
200c, and topically w/ MT. I did need morphine for the
first 48 hrs. because I was figuring out as I went
along that the lower potencies were doing nothing.
As for the story from Teresa it is a fairly
accurate retelling of Luc's touching story specific to
that poor woman.
As for specific rx's for your injury, depending
on your overall health and vital force, I would seek
to fully define a complete sx. w/ all of it's
accompanying modalities and concomitants. I have
discovered that in older folks the Calcs seem to play
a large role in recovery.
Good luck, Rik

Hi Joy,
) I'm glad I'm at least getting some good stories out of this
mess!! I want to answer this more fully, but later... I am, of all
the "when-in-rains-it-pours" things, getting over some sort of
(?)stomach flu! Good grief! But thanks for the helpful thoughts--more
response later!

Re: Broken bones...
I just sent you the latest email I received from WHOLE HEALTH NOW, Alan, but for others who might be interested in WHN’s MP3s and not know about them, go to www.wholehealthnow.com and look at the top right-hand of the home screen. You should see a title to click on, “Interviews with Master Homeopaths”. There are MP3s of old interviews that can be listened to or downloaded. My son is a techie and has downloaded some of them to CDs to pass around in my study group, among others the interview I mentioned with Dr. Luc. That was the interview he gave shortly after returning from his tsunami mission; he has given a number of them, along with many other very interesting Master Homeopaths. Teresa (Northern VA, USA)

Re: Broken bones...
Hi Rik,
Wow, what an "education" you've gotten!!!
Yup, I also have a couple of buckets of unused painkillers. I guess I
need to
learn to "just say no", and have a bit of faith and patience...
I appreciate your observation about low potencies not serving, in that
extreme
sort of situation. I don't think I've ever used a first-aid remedy in
10M, but after
reading your post, I am going to order some, at least arnica and
hypericum!
Thanks again,
Shannon

Re: Broken bones...
This is not a homeopathic remedy, but it is an interesting alternative for broken bones.
When I was in Bolivia, I talked to some Aymara Indians who discussed their way of setting bones. They would catch one of their local lizards, wrap its splayed carcass around the broken bone, and tie it in place. When the person can't stand the stench of the rotting carcass anymore, in about one week, the lizard is thrown away, and the bone is healed. This was corrobated by a German friend who has witnessed this healing.
It amazes me that bones can heal in one week this way when it takes them 6 weeks to heal in a cast. I think allopathic medicine definitely underestimates the regenerative ability of our bones and our bodies for that matter.

Re: Broken bones...
LOL, WOW!!! I would love to ask the surgeon if we could skip all that,
and just get me a lizard skin!
) What a wonderful alternative,
tho. Do you happen to know what kind of lizard? I wonder if the
homeopathic version would also help heal bones?
But wondering why it can also *set* them... I'm guessing perhaps that
the lizard skin shrinks as it dries, and thereby tightens on the bones
and pulls them into place? Fascinating!

Re: Broken bones...
Shannon, when you discard those “buckets of unused painkillers,” you know not to put them in the toilet as I used to do, right? Maybe you know some way of disposing of them that I don’t. What I have read is that one should remove the prescription label from bottles of meds and package them unrecognizably (so no one will misuse them—especially painkillers like Oxycontin, I guess) and put them in landfill trash.

I broke my wrist on 1st Dec last year (one radius break, two others
cracked) due to a bad fall on ice - and started trimming the cast after
a few days, wanting to use my fingers to finish knitting Xmas gifts I
was working on, in time to mail them for Xmas. I trimmed the front opf
the cast back right away for this, and shortened it where it was
interfering with my elbow.
I trimmed more of the cast off almost daily, also cutting the top
off so just the support bottom was there plus an ace bandage after a
couple days, as the full cast restricted my movement of fingers somehow.
Can't remember how long I used any support, certainly not more than
2 or 3 weeks rather than the 6 weeks instructed with full cast to the
elbow. Anyway - all the knitting was completed a week before Xmas - 8
items though it was really slow the first week.
I am quite sure that knitting was happening more than just on the
needles thanks in part to the area having some motion but also some
support - and thanks in part to the symphytum, arnica, rhus-t and Ruta,
all 30C. (It was badly sprained as well.) I just tossed a little of each
in some water, succussed and sipped as needed. It was obvious to me that
the bones knitted first and fast; it was a bit longer to get full
healing in bent or twisted-wrist positions.
Lizards are scarce here - maybe geckos?
Namaste,
