Traumatic brain injury in vets

Post by Dale Moss »

A recent article in National Geographic on traumatic brain injuries in soldiers serving in Iraq set me to thinking how wonderful it would be to use homeopathy in treating these people. I'm going to discuss this with some other local homeopaths to see if we can form a group to approach the Veterans Administration with a pilot project, but in the meantime I wonder if anyone else would be interested in participating. Let me know privately if you would.

No doubt many of you have treated Vietnam vets for service-related problems -- but they come to homeopaths only after many, many years of getting nowhere with conventional medicine. How much better it would be to address their ailments sooner rather than later!

Peace,
Dale

As a GP attending many local relevant groups I was quite vocal for a
time. Eyes would roll 'there she goes again' and once at a talk on
PTSD really dismissed by speaker saying "we all know about placebo
effect." It is still a great grief to me that I did not find a way
to be more effective and I think young women today could find a way
to be listened to. I have a collection of articles on the subject
somewhere ,it was years ago, and great care must be taken not to
release memories too suddenly . I think it would be wonderful to
impact on this area and I wish you success.

Issue5 there is a salutary article by Ed Schmookler. I can not now
access it.

Dale,
Eileen Nauman, DHM (UK) had an article posted in 2001that is very helpful.
It may have more input in emotional trauma than structural or physical, but
it may be very helpful to you. I'll send it off list to you direct.

Post Traumatic Stress Disorder: : Arming for Terrorist Attacks in the USA

with homeopathy and flower essences

Mercurius Viv is one remedy she mentions, but I cannot find anything on
this remedy. Anyone know anything about this?

I have an article (a book report, actually) on my site's
http://www.industryinet.com/~ruby/brain_longevity.html .

I've used a combination of the essential fatty acids; Cod Liver Oil,
Phosphatidyl Serine, Phosphatidyl Choline, Good Quality combination Vit.
B's, Bi-Chemic Phosphate tissue Salts, Hypercum, then used a SCENAR and
Laser on a relative of mine who was given up on after a year of being a
vegetable, and deemed not worthy of physical therapy. After 6 weeks of
specific nutrition, and homeopathic remedies, and a couple of hours of
biofeedback and laser therapy, he was talking, eating pizza ( this meant
his feeding tube could be removed) and moving arms and legs. After
re-evaluation, he was enrolled into the hospital's rehabilitation program
and within a couple months was walking with a walker. The parents were
amazed. The trauma hospital had been working with him for over a year, with
no results. It was the combination of specific nutrition and homeopathy
that set the body's terrain to be able to heal. The biofeedback allowed for
stimulation to brain's meridians and neurons to wake up and get back working
again.

As both the brain and the myelin sheath are made of fat, this makes sense.

(I wonder if these oils would also work on other Myelin sheath diseases. Has
anyone has ever thought to try it on MS, or Parkinson's? I also know that
"typically" Rapeseed [Canola oil] is not the best oil to eat.... There's a
lot of documentation on this.... I'm wondering if other monounsaturated
combinations of the Oleic and Erucic acids found in cooking oils ~ may prove
even better? ) Typically, Cod Liver Oil, Phosphatidyl Serine, Phosphatidyl
Choline, Lecithin are great combinations of oils to rebuild Brain and
Nerves. See http://www.industryinet.com/~ruby/brain_longevity.html

I did notice that they state in the second article "Doctors will transplant
Schwann cells, which create myelin sheaths for peripheral nerves, into
patients with multiple sclerosis." In addition to giving the body the
specific nutrition it needs, I wonder if any of these doctors have ever
considered adding a Homeopathic Sarcode of these Schwann Cells, together
with Homeopathic Hypercum (St. John's Wort), Bi-Chemic Phosphate Tissue
Salts, which resonate with the nerves and myelin sheath - to heal specific
cells. I believe that taking this specific nutrition in the mouth, as well
as holding nutrition and remedies in mouth and possibly hand - while working
with a laser on the Cranial nerves and down the spinal cord, one may see
specific results, and re-associate the nervous system with the immune
system. I'd love to see this combination put to the test!

Some new research I'm doing with Orthomolecular medicine shows research that
Manganese is very necessary with muscle contraction capability.... so if
muscle coordination is a problem, this may be needed.

Hope this is helpful.

May you Prosper, even as your Soul Prospers 3John 2

Friends,
I'm writing away from my home or office now, but my eBook ("Homeopathic Family Medicine") makes reference to a good study published in a respected medical journal that specialized in "rehabilitation medicine" on the homeopathic treatment of traumatic brain injury. This study was led by Edward (Ted) Chapman, MD, former President of the American Institute of Homeopathy and former instructor at Harvard. This study should statistically significant results using 1 of 8 homeopathic medicines known to be of benefit to people with head injury.
For people not familiar with my eBook, it is an Acrobat file with references to 200+ clinical trials (organized by disease name). One of the great benefits of being an eBook is that I get to update it based on new research. My website (www.homeopathic.com) sells one-time downloads as well as two-year subscriptions.
There are six free sample chapters at this website too.
Needless to say, when you make reference to RESEARCH, other people will not tend to think you're strange. That said, although research is important, a lot of people will not believe you because of their own unscientific attitudes against homeopathy.

Hi, Dana

I knew of Ted's work but hadn't seen it in publication. Thanks for the reference. A friend of mine, an allopath associated with the institute where the study was conducted, was quite excited about the results. I believe theirs was one of the first grants allocated by the then-new Institute of Alternative Medicine of the NIH.

Peace,
Dale
