What is it about allergies that makes cure difficult?

I've seen mentioned in posts on a number of occasions, the last being in
the past few days, about the difficulty in treating allergies/

Food allergies?
dust, pollen allergies?
hay fever?
Does it make a difference if someone has been treated for them
allopathically or not? (I'm thinking that's obvious, as the medicines bury
the symptoms, going further in...) So what about a person who hasn't used
any kind of treatment, just suffers for the season or avoids the foods that
trigger?

It is a big question - how do allergies take a hold - can be a mixture
of inherited weakness/susceptibility or acquired through allopathic
disturbance (for want of a better word) such a h/o antibiotics,
vaccinations, etc. Either way they suggest a deep foundation
irrespective of whether they take allopathic drugs to treat them - but
these can alter the sx picture dramatically and this is why it can be
difficult to find a rx that will ameliorate the situation for them
(always ask about hos the sx first present before they start taking
drugs) but nonetheless they can still be difficult to cure completely
and often require intercurrent rx and a lot of time. Best wishes, Joy
