Ramakrishnan's notes
Hello all,
Does anybody who has taken Dr. A.U. Ramakrishnan's courses, remember
what remedy he recommends for children who need to have their appetite
stimulated?
The child does not have an appetite and this remedy stimulates it.
I can't find it in my notes.
Thanx in advance,
Bill G.

Herbal Alfalfa tincture will do this but also look at the Rx as this does it as well Also zinc. I will check my AUR notes when I have a moment.

Hello Bill,
To add to Chris' input...I have used Alfalfa 1x extensively in the
treatment of animals as a general appetite stimulant with frequent
success. Also found it useful in animals with cancer. Having said
that, you need to take into account 'WHY' the Pt needs to have the
appetite stimulated...what triggered the loss of appetite...take a
look at the rubrics under appetite - eg. is it related to an
emotional upheaval; has the poor appetite occured after a
debilitating condition; is it changeable...sometimes good, other
times not; is it diminished at certain times of day/night, when it's
time to eat, affected by drinking; satiated too easily; does weight
loss accompany it or not; is it < sight/smell of food; without
relish; is there nausea; what else in the case does the problem
match; etc???

Re: Ramakrishnan's notes
Can't remember the reference source, and I didn't ever use it,
(although I contemplated it for a while with a very tubercular
looking child) but I did read that Drosera can do amazing things for
appetite and as a general tonic.

Re: Ramakrishnan's notes
I have fairly good notes starting from when I first brought Dr
Ramakrishnan to the Uk and from his postgraduate course I set up and I
cant find any reference to this. He may have mentioned it subsequently
though. I can ask him if you like.
