Strange Rare & Peculiar

Post by Maria Bohle »

I came across the most interesting SRP today, and was hoping someone may
know a remedy that addresses this one.

Person has trouble walking, can hardly feel his feet, feels like he feet
have heavy leather soles when barefoot, his knees hurt due to the impact
of his feet on the ground.

Now this person went for a ride on a boat (small ship), the ship rocked
and people used to walking on land found the rolling of the deck
unsettling, the above person had no problem walking on that ship, and was
not in any pain at all during the boat ride. Once the boat came ashore,
and he got off the boat, his problems walking re-appeared as did the
pain.

Makes no logical sense, but it is a wonderful SRP.
Any thoughts?

I could say 'better on the water", but I would think the 'better by the
ocean rubric would apply, but I know of one time this person was feeling
fine on the mainland, but went to a shore town on the ocean and became
almost totally crippled (couldn't walk at all without a cane), and then
returned home and was better.

Warmly, Maria

From HA Roberts
Soles soft when stepping - Alum
Stepping on round sausages - Plumbum
Stepping on cushions - Apis
Something soft in soles when walking - Xanth
Walking on nutshells _ Plumbum
Feet were made of wood -- Plumbum
Feet were swollen and walking on sponges - Heloderma ( used this
many times for this symptom)
Xanth also has pain in knees < walking with weakness of legs
Alumina and Plumbum also look good. What was the diagnosis? Does the
leather feel soft or hard?
When and how did it start? Strange, rare and peculiar the symptom may
be one needs to still confirm using other symptoms, mentals,
modalities etc.
Round out the picture...

To add to what has already been offered I think I would be tempted to
use a variety of the 'motion' rubrics such as rhythmic, slow,
oscillatory. Tarentula looks interesting as does Elaps but many of the
snakes have feet/motion problems, and from the plant world possibly
pulsatilla or agaricus.

But your post certainly points to how we have to really question these
apparent 'strange, rare and peculiar' sx by exploring all the reasons
why this is happening. if it comes down to being >>> on the ocean then
that's not so strange after all.

There also seems to be some contradiction regarding being by the ocean
so how does this effect the previous sx - it seems to both >
and you would have to cross reference these 2 rubrics.

Sometimes the SRP are red herrings (also better for being at the ocean
:-))

Maria,

You know, you could have correctly selected the exact perfect remedy, but if
the potency is not correct, you'd have a flop.....

I've experienced this with my husband's (wet) asthma. He was up all night
for years with a very symptomatic picture of Antimonium Sulpharium.... I
gave it, and it "somewhat helped", but didn't take complete care of the
situation.... Then, I got aggressive and gave him a 1M, and a couple weeks
later a 10 M. It totally took care of it. I mean, he only has to take it
once a year, and has NO problem. This is a Chronic situation that eluded me
for years... yet, it was perfect symptom picture for Ant. Sulp. I changed
nothing but the potency and it cured the situation. Don't ever give up
hope. Look at a bigger frame of reference.

Hi Jennifer,

This is something I have wondered about!
What potency and repetition had you used for him previously?

Shannon,

The potency in my kit was a 30C. I also tried 200C. But it was the 1M that
stopped it in it's tracks. What a night and day difference! To think that
he's spent several years up all night... choking, trying to breath. One
dose a year! Who would have thought?

Dear Maria

If the guy has pains when he is walking on the quayside, then you can
discount the rubrics of being near sea etc.

Thanks, very interesting to know! And the 30c made *no* impression at
all? It *should* (I think???) be possible to make a 30 at least do
some work, maybe by repeating more aggressively? Note to all--I am
fully aware of the risks of repeating "routinely", but in an emergency
sort of situation, and/or where you feel confident of the remedy but
think your potency is too low, I gather it can be useful to repeat e.g.
every 10 minutes or so for up to several doses, and may have a response
(by which I of course mean a *healing* response, not a proving) finally
begin? Can anyone comment?
Shannon
