Patient says she has Leukopenia. Is this the same as Neutropenia? Neutrophils are a type of white blood cell aren't they? The reason why I ask is that a student who was sitting in with me found in her notes that neutropenia can be helped by Ars 6c 3x a day as an organ tonic. Can anyone comment on this please?
I have found Murphy, Blood; WHITE blood cells,, apis[1], ars[1], dor[1], sec[1]
The Rx I gave her 2 months ago - 1 dose, brought back old symptoms fleetingly but this was one of her presenting complaints which is getting worse not better. I am seeing her agin on Monday.

****this is a secondary symptom - so best to go back to treat the chief
complaint - insodoing, the blood dyscrasia will no longer be evident.
This condition can be from various causes eg., from drugs, or autoimmune,
faulty regulation of hematopeoietic cell proliferation etc....
The Chinese medicine view is that it is a deficiency of spleen and kidney
energy.
My view would be that unless Ars was a match for the energy of her case, it
probably would not address the cause.
Maybe take a look from the Sankaran perspective for Ars(or see below - Chin
or Cupr. etc.) and see how it fits the case - eg., Ars is cancer miasm,
with feelings of helplessness, having weak defenses, structure being eroded
and finding difficulty in protecting self etc.....
For what it is worth -->
From Synthesis 9.1
GENERALS - LABORATORY findings - leukocytes - decreased
ars. chin. cupr. des-ac. influ. rad-br. rad-met. rib-ac. streptoc. sulfa.
x-ray
F. Master is the reference for Ars.
most of the others are from Master and Julian
Sorry could not be of more help

Re: Low whiteBlood cell count
Dear Robyn
The remedy I gave her was Carc 1M, which I didn't repeat as I thought it was still bringing things out. Thanks for all your information. I will see what emerges when I see her tomorrow. The low WBC count she says is since a hysterectomy in 1987,. She has had a lot of basal carcinomas which Dr Ramakrishan says the main Rx is Ars Br which I don't see in her at all as she cares much more about other people than herself and ignores her problems to do this. The Carc cured a big wart on her lip which she was going to have removed and also skin tags on her eye lids. It's an interesting case- but aren't they all!!
Regards

Hello, I remember one of my supervisors showed me a case of Ars brom. It was
a very strange case of a mixture of psychotic behaviour and history of
guilt. Your patient sounds really ill I am not surprised she has a low white
blood count. Another cancer remedy that is related to Ars and one that has
warts on the lips and epithelioma on the eyelids is Cundurango. I am
studying Carcinosin and a lot of cancer remedies at present so may I ask why
you gave her Carcinosin. Thank you. Kerry.

If Dr. Ramakrishnan's rem Ars.brom for basal carcinomas is a lesional
prescription, then whether or not her personality/temperament is
irrevelevant. Another way to look at it is though is that Dr. Ramakrishnan
may have noted/observed in his vast practice that many times this remedy has
cured this symptom. There should also be other aspects to the presentation
that fit Ars brom over another remedy though, and this needs to be
differentiated.
When a lesional remedy is offered by a seasoned practitioner, it needs to be
looked at - but there will always be more than one choice - I have many
notes from seminars that list this kind of thing, and what is missing quite
often is the context within which they are applied.
This method of Homoeopathy (lesional prescribing) has its place in my
opinion and needs to be part of our repertoire when a case presents that
will be best served by this approach. Deciding when it is appropriate - this
then becomes the art!

Re: Low whiteBlood cell count
I understand what you are saying and if she had a basal carcinosin at this moment I would probably go with the Ars Br but she hasn't. She has a seborrhitic wart on her back which she has had checked and possibly the Carc will get rid of it like the others or maybe I will give Thuja tincture to use topically as I know this can get rid of warts brilliantly as I have used it myself twice!!

Re: Low whiteBlood cell count
I gave Carc because of things she said in the consultation and past history and family medical history.
e.g. "People who whinge irritate me and therefore I take on their problems to shut them up."
She has had Epstein Barr
Son who died of Leukaemia and another daughter died - i.e. grief
Clairvoyance
"I'm easy going to a point . I hear all my friends problems and give them advice. I like socialising, I like to be friendly with people. I am prepared to get things sorted for people. I love wild weather and thunderstorms. Sensitive to reprimands."
Sister TB, another 2 with heart disease, father died of lung cancer. Brother 2 strokes.
I felt drained when she had finished the consultation.
