Ian's view is quite strong, but coming from his own experience (and possibly others, I
don't know). I'm not attacking anyone for their experiences, but I'm aware that
beliefs affect the outcome (e.g. The New Science of Life/Rupert Sheldrake), so maybe
that may partly explain this ?

I don't think he was suggesting you broach the ambivalence issue with the pregnant
px. I understood him to have said that in two cases where he gave a remedy, the px
miscarried, but he subsequently discovered that both px DID have some ambivalence
about the pregnancy. Maybe they didn't realise it till after the event too ? Who's to
say ! Obviously it is A view, and he is entitled to practice that way, but maybe on
this 'classical' list it is a little *out there* for some tastes (obviously yours! )
Obviously until I have more experience in this area, I can't comment...

Well, it's not the "out there" factor I reacted to, but the
"psychologizing" aspect--which I do have a bug about, having had bad
experiences with it in the past.

I like Ian's work (at least what I've heard in the past). And I guess
so long as one uses this suggestion as a clue for areas to explore in
casetaking, it could be useful. What gets *my* dander up (and certain
others' too) is when someone sees a "fact", and takes a flight of fancy
from it, decides they therefore "know" things that are actually not
true, but they haven't bothered to find out. Or they ask, but decide
not to believe the answer they're given, since it conflicts with their
preconception. (I've had bad experiences with that one, too!) I guess
I'm not trying to argue, so much as to say it's a suggestion that needs
to be treated with some care, IMO.

Hi Shannon,

This is somewhat off the topic heading now, but I sympathise that you have had some
really bad experiences. [ I had one with my very first classical homeopath, so I know
what you mean. ]
