INIMICAL REMEDIES

Post by HomeoDidact »

Hi,

I wonder what are your options in this *acute* case:

I gave a person a remedy which he is not sure if it helped him and
(after 8 hours since the last dose)
I found another more matching new remedy, BUT this remedy is
listed an an inimical remedy to the former (they are inimicals).

What would you do if you want to give the new remedy?

TIA

Rafy

Give it quick and see if it really is inimical

Hi Rafy,

Inimical relation only exist when the remedy acted.
When you see the new remedy clear, this is what the patient needs right now.
Symptom similarity is higher in rank then 'experience rules'

Dear Rafy

If the second remedy is more similar, prescribe it without fear.

Hi,
If rx A is listed in the "INIMICALS" table sa an Inimical rx to rx B -- does this say that necessarily rx B should be listed as an Inimical to rx A?
If the answer is Yes -- then why the tables in several books do not follow this rule?
TIA
Rafy

Dear Rafy
Its one way. For example you can use Nit-ac after nat-m. But its better not to use Nat-m after nit-ac.
In some remedies the inimicality is two way: for example: phos and caust no one should be used after the other ( according to inimicality)

OK - You have prescribed Causticum and does not do much. You re-take the case and are sure it should have been Phos.
What do you do?

Hi,
Vithoulkas says: You CAN give it but only if the previous rx did not act at all.

In my opinion - there is one main rule - if it is indicated - give it.
One area of caution is when the VF is feeble and here one needs to tread gently and slow stimulation is needed. A lot of these guys who wrote such things in the past had not had access to Organon 6 and therefore only had C potencies.
When you use LMs such problems arise rarely. If colleagues have also experienced the same kind of reactions when using LMs, I would like to hear about it.
