Cell phone.

Post by Editor-in-Chief; Homoeopathic Medical Panorama »

Dear J.W,
For the last few years I was having a mild to moderate pain in my left
precordium. Occasionally shooting up to left shoulder, dull aching in
nature. I attributed it to a sequel of Herpes Zoster, which I had about
eight years back, of my left 5th ICN. Of course had an ECG as well as ECHO
to rule out anything cardiac. About two years back I noted some pattern in
the appearance and disappearance of the pain and ultimately discovered that
the pain started within four-five minutes of placing the cell phone in my
shirt pocket. To make a long story short, now I rotate the cell in between
my shirt pocket and trouser pockets. [still can't do without it! ;-)].
After that as I was in the lookout got info from colleagues about 'a man
with five years of severe right hip pain, not responding to any Rx, which
finally resolved by a dose of Radium brom. and shifting the cell from his
right trouser pocket'; 'Ringing in the year as a mild tinnitus after using
cell for about five minutes of an extensive user'; 'mild head ache,
confusion and ringing in year after use for a few minutes' etc.
You should note that already there are a partial proving of Mobile Phone
Radiation from 'The South Downs College of Homoeopathy, UK'. A really good
work indeed. The proving was published in the January-March 2002 issue of
Homoeopathic Medical Panorama.
I think it will be for the benefit of all if all of you sent any such
clinical symptoms from cell phone use. Please be as descriptive as possible
when you give the symptoms/signs. It will be good if you send private mails
to me @ chief@homedpa.com or dr.gafar@homeoweb.com or at least put a Cc to
my ID if you are posting them at the list.
I am trying to construct a more up dated Materia Medica out of it and if
possible conduct a re-proving of the same.
Thanking you all already
Dr. Abdul Gafar.

I gave Mobile phone 30 - Nuala Eising's version, a while ago to a patient who was getting headaches from using his cell phone and it cured it. I would have give a split dose.
Have just dug out the case- Headaches in the afternoon "which feel fuzzy at the top of my head if I have the phone to my ear for a couple of minutes. My view on life is to live life to the full." Previous Rx had been Lycopodium which got rid of his IBS.

Helios but there are at least 4 different types that have been proved so you really have to know which one you want!!

does anyone have experience with "ailments from computer use"? I have a
patient who gets dizzy spells from using the computer for long periods.

I would wonder how much of a "cure" can be achieved when the problematic
activity is continuing! I doubt that isopathy confers ongoing immunity to
toxic effects... I'd be afraid it could just make the difference between
person being sensitive enough to experience *minor* problems before serious
damage is done, versus person who experiences no symptoms until they develop
e.g. a brain tumor. Just at a gut level, it seems like there would *have*
to be a price; isn't this really just "shooting the messenger" all over
again?

What are the four types, and what do you know about the differences?

This might be unrelated to your pt's situation, but when my eyes get fuzzy
and painful from too much computer, Ruta has worked miraculously. (I
initially found this by accident, when I needed Ruta for something else, and
I do *not* do this ongoingly--my ongoing solution is to (a) work mostly from
my laptop, which *doesn't* bother my eyes, and (b) when I'm on the desktop,
just take frequent breaks. I don't think remedies should be used in an
aspirin-like way, to relieve symptoms so that the abuse can continue!)

But I realize that if your job requires extended computer use, options may
be more limited... But maybe he can get use of a flat screen and see
whether that helps?

Could it just be low blood pressure from not moving around enough, maybe
helped by standing, walking and stretching once an hour or so?? (Personally
I wouldn't go the route of "Computer 6c" or whatever... I'd look for
reasons, maintaining cause, ways to bring *appropriate* activity back into
the picture, and no doubt the constitutional remedy if possible. Or at
least try to work out *what* about the computer is causing the problem--is
it really radiation, or is it something else?) Sorry, maybe not too
helpful...
