remedy / rubric help pls

Post by Soroush Ebrahimi »

Dear Colleagues

Please help me with this case.

Boy nearly 16

Smoked cannabis about 9-10 weeks ago was violently sick after wards but
recovered quickly.

He smoked another joint 5 weeks ago and has Not been well since.

He has a peculiar symptom:

If he rises at normal speed say from a chair, he sees colours and unless he
moves his arms quickly, then his knees will go weak and then he will feint.

He is frightened of feinting.

He rises very slowly - straightens up as if he was an old man. waits and
then walks.

Those of you with the facility, please check through the literature and see
if you can come up with anything.

Rgds

Hi Saroush

One simple explanation could be orthostatic hypotension, which is quite
common and considered a normal condition in teenagers, especially those who
grow quickly. If the dizziness goes on for longer than about a minute, this
is considered moving into the abnormal arena though. It happens due to the
relative rapidity of blood translocating from the thorax to the dependent
parts of the body during orthostasis. It is common in the tall lean ones.

Homoeopathically, the literature suggests that Phos, Sulph, Lac can, and
Pulsatilla can have this condition.

VERTIGO - MODALITIES - RISING - after
VERTIGO - RISING - bed; from - after
VERTIGO - RISING - seat; from a - after
VISION - COLORS before the eyes - black - spots - vertigo, with
MIND - FEAR - fainting, of

Interestingly Lac.c has the fear of fainting and Degroote lists it as a
clinical observation for orthostatic hypotension.
However, it can also be due to reduction in fluid levels, and there are a
multitude of conditions that have this as a symptom.

best

Robyn

"He has not been well since"

Is there a need to go beyond that simple sentence?
He smoked Cannabis and *has not been well since*.

First remedy to try? Cannabis Indica.

As an old prover of Cannabis I can testify that seeing colours after
rising quickly from a chair was a symptom I personally verified
(repeatedly) even though it might not appear in the MM of the remedy.

Often via smoking, but the pure, fresh herb I usually ingested by

I wondered also what preexisting chronic state would predispose a person to
react so strongly and immediately to it -- any signs of a preexisting cann-i
state? I recall being told that a certain significant percentage of people
who smoke pot are basically self-medicating (imperfectly!!), and need cann-i
in potency. The fact that he is "never well since" seems like a sort of
polarity of the same issue?
