This is admittedly a strange request BUT I am writing an article on the constitutional types of Frodo and Gollem from Lord of The Rings and is there a member of this site that is a BIG fan (must know the book and film very well) that I could run something by???

I only know them "pretty well", so you can no doubt do better, but surely
Gollum would have to be syphilitic?

This may not help very much, but in terms of Bachremedies I'd say Frodo
would be Oak, and the 'bad' part of Gollum probably would be Willow.

Nice idea - I am also in the process of building a rubric and remedy link to
famous names for my web site and so I interested in this.

Without writing a thesis... fundamentally Lord of the Rings is about war and
the classic good against evil, driven by greed. As you will know the Gollum
evolved out of this dichotomy of good and evil - he tried to take the ring
from Baggins in his past life, nearly killed him for it and through time
mutated into the naked, almost reptile like creature that still had the
duality of good and evil. He certainly wasn't all bad, just easily seduced
by the golden ring which eventually led to his downfall. Even Baggins only
just managed to avoid the terrible pull of the powerful ring. But the Gollum
is whatever you want it to be - that is his secret (a sycotic trait).

He paid the ever lasting penance of his bodily image and his never ending
dilemma.

In many ways Frodo is no different. He was given unthinkable responsibility
which he endured only by a special companion AND the Gollum - who did try
his best to overcome the evil within. But Frodo too suffered the pull of the
power and came close to losing his intentions as well as his life. The
difference between the two is an apparent innocence in Frodo but a duplicity
in Gollum.

Hi LIz, I'm a fan. Read the books some 30 yrs ago but remember them
well. Movies were great.

ONe idea for Gollum--Abrotanum--Grandgeorge calls them the spiritual
vampire and I had a case like that. It is a childhood rx with
discharge from umbilicus--some kind of nourishment issue, --and Gollum
is a reverted reptilian of some kind --possessed by evil and caught
between master/slave dichotomy. Just an idea. Some reptilian rx might
also fit. The possessed and possessive and ontologically regressed
would have to be covered by the rx.

Frodo--no ideas at present. What are your questionss....

I love the way we all see different things - a friend saw Anacardium
for instance.

I think the raw fish is a bit of a 'red herring' (pun intended)! He
is after all half 'wild', but if you combine some rubrics, it
interestingly comes up with Tarentula (which is certainly as

Frodo's much more difficult, as Elijah Wood played him very
enigmatically, and I've not read the book. Here's some ideas from the top
of my head, but my first thought was kind of an Aurum template (well, it
looked like a suicide mission!). Other thoughts were a Phos or Carb (Bar.
phos or carb ?), or Silica (as they can be very determined). The rep (not
surprisingly) favours Carc., with Tub. overtones. None of the other
remedies seemed appropriate (Caust, Nux, Calc, Puls...)
