The Small Pox Vaccine.

Dear Doctors,
Talking about the small pox vaccination I remember a lot of articles in the newspapers, around two decades ago, that this vaccine may have transferred the HIV from a particular type of monkeys found in Africa to the humans. This was because the trials and preparations for the small pox vaccine was done with the serum from these very vaccines. Then suddenly these reports stopped and there were explanations splashed all over that the virus jumpover was because of certain African tribes eating the flesh of these monkeys.
Do anyone of you have any idea about what may have really happened? Could we have more info about the probability of more such incidents coming to light?
The American press is also agog with information that vaccines contain mercury and lead that may be causing brain and neural disorders in children. Concern over large number of army men dying because of the vaccinations thrust on them before the Gulf war have also appeared.

Dear Jagganath
do you have weblinks to current articles appearing in the US about the
toxicity of vaccines? In NZ there is currently a massive Government/media
drive to vaccinate 0-18 year olds against one strain of Meningococcal. So
any current info about risk factors of vaccines in general would be good to
have when faced with enquiries from people who are looking for an informed
choice.
