Does Homeopathic medicine expire?

Post by Suzanne PROCTOR »

Hello,
I keep a number of remedies that I carry with me when traveling. I have bought them from pharmacies in France and they are manufactured by BOIRON. They have expiry date on them and many of remedies are now out of date.
Does homeopathic medicine expire according to you knowledge and experience? Do you think I should replace my remedies with fresh ones?
Best regards,
Suzanne

Forget it.
Boiron has expiry dates on their stuff. They have even gone so far as
going to dealers and taking the expired stuff off shelves.
Completely nuts.
If the meds are kept cool and dry, they will last for a long time.
All we can say NOW is that they seem to last for at least 170 years--
because stuff Hahnemann made in about 1834 are still extant and seem
to still work (If the reports are accurate).
I KNOW that they will last 100+ years because potencies I have that
were made by Fincke at sometime between 1880 and 1900, are still
active (i.e., they were used successfully in practice).

Save your money.
Don't let the con you.

I agree with Julian completely on this.

I have remedies that my Great Grandfather used in 1920 and they are now
used by me and still work, even though they have travelled from Germany
to India to Pakistan to Nairobi and then to England.

I heard the exp dates were due to a ruling by the FDA in 1995 for exp
dates and indications to be put on the labels.

In 1988 I was told that someone had tested the remedies found in the
oldest city of of the USA St Augustine, Florida's museum, which had a
doctors bag with homeopathic remedies on display. These were not kept
cool or handled with a lot of respect and showed to still be
effective in clinical use.
