Carbo An

Hi,
I am an acupuncture physician and homeopath from Central Florida USA.

I have had some experience with Carbo An I'd like to share.

Carbo-an
Boericke says The Carbon group all have putrid discharges and
exhalations. All act on the skin, causing interrigo and excoriations.
Glandular enlargements and catarrhal states, flatulency and
asphyxiation.
Some of this is from my class notes and some from personal cases. The
Carbo An Patient as a Person is
A person (usually older) who has never recovered after a debilitating
illness leaving them enfeebled.
There is a marked disintegration of tissue seen everywhere. Poor
circulation which will give the skin a blue tone.

This is a cold remedy. Coldness in bed3
Loss of animal fluids is a keynote for me to consider Carbo an. It
could be after a sunstroke, diarrhea, vomiting, menses, heat in the
environment but there will be a feebleness of recovering with
coldness.
Green and yellow discharges from lungs, uterus, nose and sores.
Syphillitic type skin growths will return even after being surgically
removed. The wound refuses to heal and continues to secrete offensive
discharges.
Lots of psoric modalities of weakness, debility

A SRP feature is Objects appear far off while walking along.
Sensation ie looseness in the body. Eyes feel as if loose in their
sockets. Brain feels loose with cough.

It can be used to palliate the transition process at the end of life
(ars)

I was asked to treat my pts mom who was spry, cheerful, still active,
and exercising and visiting friends as a 95 year old. She fell and
broke her hip. After a month in the hospital where she was recovering
nicely and desiring to get back to her gardening, She was placed in a
nursing home and lost her will to live. She developed pneumonia with
pleurisy and given massive amounts of IV antibiotics and other drugs
during another 10 day hospital stay for the pneumonia. She refused to
eat or talk to anyone. Developed a fever and slipped in and out of
consciousness. At times she knew those around her and other times
not. (probably due to the drugs more than anything)Up until that time
no signs of dementia in her history.
After the pneumonia cleared up she still had stitching pains
remaining and a slight cough.

I held very little hope but gave her daughter a 30C Carbo An to slip
to her while in the hospital since the doctors were opposed to
alternative care and the daughter was begging me to help to mom.

On the second dose the mom sat up declared she was hungry and asked
about her friends and family shocking the staff and pleasing her
daughter. She was however still very weak and tired easily.

After the remedy she was discharged from the hospital within two days
and unfortunately placed back into the nursing home where she again
lost the will to live. She took care of her own house, cooking and
even raking leaves until she broke her hip.

She declared to her daughter she had a good life and let her go. 3
months later after again refusing food she passed away. However the
month following the Carbo an she met with friends and said her piece
… peace to everyone.
Another case was a younger person who had a great allergic reaction
to an insect bite. Massive swelling in the throat like an
anaphylactic shock. First At the hospital they gave antihistamines
and other drugs which she also had an allergic reaction too. She
vomited for hours and had a hive like reaction. They gave her
steroids on discharge.

Afterwards the arm where the bite was and also her lip area had a
peculiar numbness with burning symptoms. Her coloration was blue and
even though she craved air she was also aggravated by cool air. A
month later she was still exhausted and tired on least exertion. She
developed debilitating night sweats.

30C Carbo An given in water and succussed strongly before each dose.
This time three doses in one day made some changes so we had her stop
and wait. She was less tired and more pink but some numbness remained
as did the burning pain at the wound site. A week later she felt
exhausted again so I gave 1 dose 200C dry under the tongue and she
completely recovered.
I had considered giving a 200C to begin with however I only had a 30C
on hand. I also felt it was more physical than mental
