Help on constitutional
Help on constitutional
Hi, folks! I have been trying to figure out what my son's
constitutional might be. He is a great kid, quite happy, very
intelligent. He sleeps quite hot, from 8-8:30 until 7:30am.
Ambidextrous.
Affectionate. Generally the leader in a group (he's either going to
be president or a really irritating boss...) ACTIVE. (His preschool
teacher asked if he kept up this energy level all the time ? I said
yes, from the moment he wakes until the moment he sleeps. But he is
not hyper or anything -- just very extroverted and energetic.)
Likes
all forms of transport and rides going anywhere. Doesn't have a
problem sharing toys. Immensely STUBBORN/STRONGWILLED.
But when learning something, if it requires too much work he shuts
down. Not a crybaby.
TALKATIVE. What is the most talkative remedy in the universe? I'm
getting running commentary and instant replay of running commentary
of everything he does orthinks...maybe some of this is just 4 year
old nature... And when he
has nothing to say in words, he makes nonsense noise. Not a big
eater right now, but he generally likes everything -- even liver,
radishes and spinach. Oddly, he doesn't like cooked apples (apple
pie, applesauce.) Not sour stuff, not spicy stuff yet. Doesn't
overdo sweets even when he has free choice. Loves yogurt, and
carrots, and bagels. Tends to dry skin, pitted nails.
The constant talking is driving me nuts. (Are we feeling high
potency Sepia today, Mama?...)
Any thoughts?

Re: Help on constitutional
Lachesis is well known as a talkative remedy but in children I would also think of Verat. See if either of those fit. Frankly though as a Mum you really are too close to him to be objective. I suggest that if you really want him sorted take him to a local homeopath.

Dear Snoozybun
How many kids do you have and what is his position? This plays an
important part in his profile.
Another thing is ,children are very much mirrors of their parents. You
also have to look at yourself and spouse and ask what is going on here.

Re: Help on constitutional
The energy of a four year old comes out of their mouths, it is a
normal stage in their development unless of course he is disruptive
and out of control with everyone not only mum and other family
members. As long as his concentration is good and he settles down to
something and does not talk he would be in my book "normal", just
needing LOTS of attention and wanting to be the centre of your
universe. If you take two full half hour sessions with him every day
once in the morning and once in the afternoon he will be happy to
leave you in peace once the routine is there and he understands you
should not be constantly interupted. Now a teenagers energy is the
universe......fun being a mum enjoy it, it passes and you then long
for the communication.

Re: Help on constitutional
Hi,
If you consider curing his talkativeness alone, our
literature will lead you nowhere. Now, in a disease
free state what we see will not lead us to a remedy.
Wait for an acute attack , see where the sx lead to,
and if you have struck the correct acute rx, at the
end of the attack, you might probably see the chronic
in him. This is superbly explained in Principles.....
by Roberts.
I have many questions on the issue of "constitutional
remedy" now,but would rather like it as "miasmatic".
All the best

Re: Help on constitutional
Hee-hee, Julian, that's spoken like a guy who has never *had* a ceaseless
chatterbox at the knees all day! The fact that "His preschool
teacher asked if he kept up this energy level all the time ?", plus the fact
that he shuts down if learning something is too hard, plus the *extremeE
nature of the talkativeness, extending to "nonsense noisess" if he has
nothing to say -- I agree this doesn't sound pathological, but it *does*
sound pretty extreme! I'd think this might be a terrific example of a place
where homeopathy might help even tho the person is not "sick".
In my experience, when "mama needs a remedy" it *can* be in part because
"baby needs a remedy" (not always, but can be!)
(I'll dredge for more thoughts, but sulph and med seem like possibilities,
don't they?)

Re: Help on constitutional
Hi,
Sounds like your real concern is your son's learning frustration.
Why not take him to a professional homeopath? Its probably really
unwise to engage in constitutional treatments unless you are well-
trained and experienced. Even if cost is an issue, the right
intervention may save hundreds or thousands of dollars down the
line. Take it from me, I wish I had known about homeopathy before I
allowed my son to be vaccinated and now he's diabetic. Minimum price
homeopathic books have several books on children's types.
(BTW, have you noticed that when the kids are really wild the men
just leave, there are probably good reasons why Sepia is a mom's
remedy!!!!!)
