Taro Update

Post by Shannon Nelson »

Short version: Apparently in the hours before I talked with her Monday,
she'd decided to "cold turkey" on the codeine, but hadn't mentioned it.
She's wound up with a ghastly case of chills, shakes, creepy-crawlies,
digestive issues, and "nightmare sensations" of detox. A detox center said
she really, really needed to be hospitalized for the detox -- necessary not
simply because she'd started, but because she was having awful reactions to
it (I assume "losing time" would have been the worrisome part? She didn't
say.), and esp. because she is epileptic. So that is where she's going.
I'd suggested she try nux-v 30, and she'll see if someone can bring that to
her in the hospital. So I guess in 3 - 7 daysd (when she's discharged) I'll
see where things are, and take it from there.

Which gives me time to work this all over properly, and thank you all so
much for the input thus far! (And if anyone has more to add, please do!
This issue is just postponed, not over, sigh...)

Best,
Shannon

Dear Shannon,
More on Ran-b. Believe you saw my earlier posting where I had listed
a few outstanding Characteristics.( Robyn had also soundly proposed)

THERE IS ONE MORE.

It is the mentals. I gave thought vanishing- it is a sensation. But
for this sensation, there is a modality, which is central to this
case.

In Boger's rep(mind-agg)- meditating agg: arg,old,ran b.
(In the mm ,it is "on reflecting, his thoughts vanish"

This reflecting or meditating agg is THE KEY TO UNLOCK THE CASE.

On your question as to why this alergy is prolonged, - may be the
stimuli had touched something (the miasm ?). Here we can only
speculate.

Believe it is useful. Expect to receive follow up.

Regards
venkat

I have just been lurking recently [many reasons] but this puts me in mind
of working at homeless youth centre last year . There was a girl hanging
out for heroin. The chills and shivers made me think of gelsemium and it was
most effective in 200c, best wishes jean

Thanks so much! I'll keep this in mind.
Did she also have the weakness etc. that acute gels is known for?

Hi Shannon,
For a detox I use Sulph 6 in the morning and Nux 6 at night for a couple of weeks. The patients seem to detox in the form of diarrhoea.

Thanks Rochelle,
Yep, we'd had this as a possibility if the nux alone wasn't sufficient and
no more compelling idea came up. (But somehow I thought I'd remembered nux
in the morning -- does it matter, and why would evening be better?)

OH dear I can't remember as the last time I did this was over 3 years ago. I'm sure it did matter which way.
Does anyone know for certain?

Nux vomica at night is thought to be best, says Boericke, not sure where he
gets it from though. But it probably has something to do with the fact that
after copious amounts of rich food, alcohol and other stimulants that Nux
vom loves to indulge in throughout the day and night, then to take a dose of
this before bed is like taking liver salts - by the time you wake up in the
morning, everything feels ok, the 'hangover' isn't so bad - and so then they
do it all over again :-))

That's nux vomica for you.

best, Joy

Dear Shannon, I don't want to encourage routineopathy - there are so many
remedies that could apply to toxic symptoms of drug overdoses. Go by what
symptoms she is having and you will get a much better result.

Oh, I heartily agree!!!!
And I won't give anything without taking my best shot at a proper casetaking
and remedy search beforehand. Her situation, tho, often makes it really,
*really* hard to get decent information. Sometimes I have to do my best
with whatever I can get.

Just on the bright side, tho -- she is *MUCH* easier to work with (e.g.
easier to get actual information from) now than she was some months back, so
we'll see...

Thanks again,
Shannon
