Beginning Remedy Selection...

In a book by, Schmidt, he recommends beginning a case with a
vegetable remedy whenever possible. Also he makes an exception to
this with Lyc. as it is a deep acting remedy. What have you more
experienced homeopaths to say about this?

Every physician and homoeopathic practitioner finds during their practice
that some things work better than others, BUT, at the end of the day we are
treating patients and not symptoms.

I would say that it may be a valuable viewpoint/theory to begin a case with
a vegetable remedy, however, where is the similimum in this case??? Aren't
we looking for that first? Each patient merits individualisation, not
shoe-horning...
