Books?
If you were asked to recommend 2 books to a total newcomer to
homoeopathy, what would they be?
(Mindful of the fact that the newcomer has come to h/pathy as a
"patient", not as a potential practitioner but feels a need to
learn for all sorts of reasons).

Re: Books?
Hi Jane,
There are *lots* of possibilities, but two that I think are excellent are:
Impossible Cure by Amy Lansky (terrific background on homeopathy, and
describes her son's recovery from autism) and
Homeopathy, Medicine that Works, by Wood (sort of quirky, but lots of
fun, very patient-oriented)
I look forward to hearing others' recommendations!

As a general introduction:
1. IMPOSSIBLE CURE by Amy Lansky
2. not sure what it's called now. Used to be "Homeopathy: The great
riddle" by Richard Grossinger.
3. (Hey I know you didn't ask, but...) *after those* "The SCience of
Homeopathy" by George Vithoulkas-- even though I strongly question
and disagree with the "stimulation model" he proposes.

Re: Books?
Thanks Julian! I had been thinking of asking you how many books you had. Like so many in homeopathy (although I am still studying) I am an absolute book freak, so imagine my delight when I discovered your book - written all about homeopathic books. A book about homeopathic books!! Heaven.
Best Wishes, Elizabeth

Re: Books?
An excellent book for a patient new to homeopathy is:
"Homeopathy - Beyond Flat Earth Medicine - An Essential Guide for the Homeopathic Patient" by Timothy R. Dooley, N.D., M.D. - costs about $10
A good place to order books on homeopathy (if you live in U.S.) is www.minimum.com
Best,

Would that be "The Heritage of Homoeopathic Literature" then?
Enjoyed your website too!
Have today received my copy of "The Science of Homoeopathy" - can't wait
to get some peace and quiet to get stuck into it!
Thanks for the recommendations.
Thanks also to Shannon, Elizabeth and Janice.
Does anyone have any opinions on the books by Miranda Castro?
peace

Re: Books?
Jane,
Her book on Emotions is very incredible! Well worth the money, as she breaks down each remedy by a chart of symptoms.. Very easy to compare.
