Dear Rochelle, another reason I like the idea of Baryta carb is the well
known sense of 'smallness' that they have (the MM's call it a sensation of
being dwarfed) - perhaps that is why he climbs - to try and grow tall again.

I was wondering if you know WHY he needs to climb?
When rock climbing there is a need for diligence, great care, planning,
caution without losing confidence (although we know he is timid), and there
is always a goal.
Is this climbing upwards and away his escape from his mother (she dominates
but he "won't let her get a way with it") - is it climbing yet clinging like
Bryonia (he isn't this rx but you see the point), or is it to practise
controlling, or to be at one with himself etc.
I note with interest that in the 'Climbing desires to' rubric, Cicuta is
there - this is a remedy full of sadness and hurt from within their past
which they have clung to. In fact they cling to it so much it prevents them
growing up (like Baryta carb), they stay like a child.
Locked up in this state they become fearful and suspicious of the world at
large and retreat into their own world (their own castle, where he is king
and no one else is allowed?). They are driven by a dissatisfaction and
displeasure with everything - hence the control over his home??).
I know it is a convulsive remedy (doesn't HAVE to be in the picture) but
they love to dance (which he does also), but they cannot caress others,
cannot deal with that emotion.
Is an eczema remedy with crusty pustules, especially on head and face areas
(maybe not specific to the ears).
Worth looking at??

This is my first day back after being away for 2 weeks and the phone hasn't stopped!! Thank you sooo much for all your contributions on this fascinating case which I will get round to reading and answering when I have a moment. Just to say I received the following from him today after my stalling reply to his "nothing happened" email.
I will reply with another stalling letter asking if he is able to control the urging to go to the toilet and are there any other signs of the IBS returning or is it just a feeling.
I have the Bermuda/emergency case in at 9 am in the morning!!! I will try and find out what I can for you all and check out all the Rx suggested. Spoke to him this morning. He is off all medication except the heart stuff that he has to take after the angioplasty. He does blame the Carc for the hospitalisation but in a nice way. I suggested that maybe it has been blown out!!! Well I can always hope. I need to assess his level of anxiety compared to last time to see if it just the fear or realisation that he was about to have another "do" or if it is always there in which case I might look at Calc Ars.
Will report back anyhow. In reply to an enquiry off list I haven't had a moment to phone and find out about the boy with the itchy penis yet but I will tomorrow somehow!!!!
